Gotta tell you...it's nice to see an introduction with more than "Hi, I'm here."

Welcome!! Any friend of Jives has got to be okay! :yh_peace

My name is Gary, but I am a big scary monster. I followed Jives here from a forum since he told me this would be a good idea. He's earned my respect, so if he tells me this is a nice forum, I'll believe him. I'm not too young, but decently young, and am a student at Cal State Bakersfield. I am double-majoring in math and computer science. I plan to learn how to make video games, but my school is being offered great scholarships by the navy to get a master's degree in information security, such a good offer that I would be stupid to not consider.

I'm a pretty conservative person, but I try to take stock in what others say. I may not agree with someone's life style or personal values, but I will treat you like a human being, especially if you do the same to me. My general problem with people, and the main reason I tend to get in arguments with people is when they use bad logic to take a controversial issue. I try to use good logic when I construct an argument, and get really miffed when the other side doesn't make sense. I'd say my biggest pitfall, however, is that I tend to get hot-headed over issues and don't let things go when I should. I'm working on that though.

Well, it's good to meet all of you. I look forward to having good-natured discussions, as well as just funny stuff that doesn't make any sense (you can ask jives about my random insane posts. And a future note, if I seem to say something that offends you, it is so by accident. I don't go around trying to make people mad.

A friend of Jives? Hold on to your hat because he's a stiff breeze around here. Welcome to the garden. Have fun posting.

Hello Monster, I was going to shorten your name as I traditionally do but then that would be calling you ummmm.... errrrr.... "big" and well I really don't like to assume too much right off the batt hehehehe

Welcome to the FG. If Jives recommended you then your way up on the welcome list. Watch for your fruit basket in the mail.

Have fun and jump on in and give us your opinion on anything we all are great conversationalists. With minimal strife :)

Hey! You made it BSM! That's great! i really think you'll like it here, and everyone, don't worry, he's actually not that controversial....he's a neat guy with a very religious background and a nice manner. (Great posts too, very intelligent).

I think you'll find this a break from our other forum, it gets a little old posting in threads by 16 year olds. Those threads seem to just go round and round about sex, games, drinking, sex games, ....etc.

I think you'll really enjoy the religious threads here and MAN! Do they ever have a bunch of categories! I try clicking on the "new posts" button at the top, it takes you right to where the action is happening! (Of course it's still up to you to figure out where to start your own threads)

Here's a rundown on the heros of the board that I know so far:

LadyCop - She seems to one of the leaders around here, very dynamic and charismatic. Do NOT disrespect her, this one guy did it and they burned him at the stake. She has some of the most interesting posts due to her position in law enfrocement.

A Karenina - If LadyCop was the King, AK would have to be the Queen. She's got the most diplomatic demeanor I've ever come across and seems very .....regal....all of the time. A terriific person.

Kensloft - Kind of a firebrand also, he likes to play Devil's Advocate occasionally just to judge reactions and stir the pot,(as I do sometimes, but I gotta quit that.) and he calls ME a "stiff wind"? Another very intelligent guy, he reminds me of Spear on our old board.

BabyRider - She's just plain fun, and very emotional and outspoken. She is definitely the jester of the crew.

Koan - "Mysterious Koan" If the board had a heart, it'd have to be Koan. She always seems to have the deep answer to any question. The kind of answer that makes everyone shut up and go...."whoa, now that's deep". A nicer person you'd be hard pressed to find.

Capt. Buzzard - Did you know "Zork" on the Duros or ARMAX boards? The "old sage" kind of guy? With a very witty tongue and some zinging one-liners? He's like that. The "Father figure" of the board to be sure!

There's Minks - A total laugh riot, she's always cracking me up. She just likes to have fun!

Abbey - friendly and personable to a fault.

Bothwell - as smart as his avatar would imply.

GMC - who seems to be on the saem page as me most of the time,

Beth - Who is a great person, but seems to be coming at me head on most of the time! (HAHAHA and I like that, after all, what fun woudl a forum be if we all agreed on everything?)

and a host of others that I can't remember right now 'cause I'm still kinda new.

This board is extremely powerful! Check it out, you can have the board e-mail you when a thread you are in gets a reply. Lots of other cool features too, like the members map.

The best part of all, though has got to be the fact that there are a wide variety of intelligent threads going on all the time, Enjoy buddy!

Hi Monster,

Nice to meet you. We should have many interesting discussions as I majored in Flawed, bad logic in school.

And I think, If an old biker may interject, that you folks are thinking of BSA cycles.

Very cool old bikes
