Glad to be home

Post by libertine »

I, All,

I'm back from my month's reprieve. The Caribbean was great. Weather almost perfect. Only rainy day was in Puerto Plata near the end..and I think it always rains in the Dominican republic.

We did see a LOT of hurricane damage, and witnessed several islands in the process of pulling themselves out of a disaster..and for that matter , doing a good job of it.

Grenada was possibily the worst, but everyone was working to fix it! That is gratifying..instead of standing with their hands out!!

Now I'm ready for SPRING to arrive here! Tomorrow is the day. We still have snow piled all over, but it is warm (in the 40s). AND most importantly..over 12 hours of daylight and gaining more than 5 minutes a day!!!

I see a ton of new topics to read and maybe coment on!

Gldd to be here again.

you had a chance to warm up, lucky you. Sounds like you visited the eastern caribbean? been there too, a few times, nice. Hurricanes did much damage there, and since the entire world has been shaken one way or another. Sounds like a cruise, nice... :-6

I think I like Bequia best..mostly because it is so beautiful. Of course for a plain old envious time St. Bart's is the place. Jimmy Buffet wrote "Cheeseburger in Paradise" there..and when you visit, you can see why!! The place is wonderful...but VERY expensive, like all the French Islands.

Actually, with time to spend, any of the Caribbean is great. I always think I could spend the rest of my life there, but of course begin to feel like I need to get home and see what's going on. Traveling is great as long as the last path leads home. ;)
