I used to make sugar cookies with my kids when they were little at Christmas, let them decorate...and never understood why I cleaned BEFORE we did that...remember cleaning up more off the floor than what got on the cookies...All in all the kids loved it and great memories...

Flop

I'm with you - receiving gifts is awkward, and I need nothing. I work all year for the surprise to others. My nephew Rob, is in a Seattle area band, so all year I look for unigue musical item, thrift stores, yard sales. This year I found him a large piano phone, its cool and he thinks I'm his crazy Aunt - so it all works.

On Christmas Eve, I secretly run to my friends and drop off a surprise gift, which they'll find Christmas Morning, just a Christmas Elf - they think I'm crazy, and I'm beginning to think they're right. Ho Ho

My trademark for wrapping - is, on their main gift I attach a ornament on the outside of the package. Snowman golfing, bendable gumby Santa, Angel made from buttons. I've done this for years, my family thinks I'm crazy - so I thought I'd prove to them - I AM. Ho Ho

Shipping Gifts: $ 120.00 Sister and Family (Rob)

24.00 S.C. Brother & Family

22.00 Missouri Friend

This truely is my Christmas

I do this every year

and Work all year to do it.

Thats my Christmas

Merry Christmas

To me Christmas is about getting stuff. Not cheap stuff either, I want the people who buy me stuff to burn a hole in their wallets. And if your going to take the trouble of sending a card, for Gods sake slip some green in there.

Not because of holidays (I don't celebrate them) but this is what passes for WINTER here, and I love the rain and cold and early darkness! (If you live in SNOW country, you'll laugh.);)

I'm not a summer person so I look forward to the winter. I love wet Sundays when you can have a nice roast dinner then laze around for the afternoon without feeling guilty about not doing anything 'cos you can't do anything in the rain!!

I love Christmas time because I have magpie tendancies towards anything shiney or glittery, I love to see the excitement on children's faces when they see Santa and presents. I enjoy the family being together and sharing a meal. It's even better now my husband is not on-call any more so if the 'phone rings on Christmas Day my heart doesn't sink anymore thinking he may have to go out.

I enjoy choosing gifts for people that they are not expecting. I have been putting together food hampers for some family members and I have really enjoyed choosing luxury foodstuff so they have a real treat.

I love to hear the school carol concerts and watch nativity plays.

this time of year is just great!!!
