I don't really get this, who are they going to play in Europe? There are European Am Football teams, but I would imagine they are pretty crap so I don't see how they could play the proper big american teams at this sport, it would be like FC Barcelona, AC Milan, and Manchester United coming over and playing some local team in Denver at soccer, (i.e. a bit pointless and not that many people would go, would they?) who knows maybe it would be fun.

It sounds like two teams come over so more like Man U and Chelsea playing in Denver - who's home and who's away I don't know and it would make league position unfair if it's only one way round. Maybe there's not so much home advantage in the US game?

Perhaps living in the UK you don't see the changes in FA (soccer) that I can see and have seen. It used to be Divisions One to Four. Now it's all sorts of divisions and of course the European involvement. I can remember when the Charles brothers were oddities because they played in Italy *gasp*.
I think the NFL is looking to expand. I know there is a European league but this looks like a big export effort.
Hmmmn, I dunno, I can't see it taking off here, we are complete soccer heads here as you know. Its like trying to introduce soccer into the states, they just are not into it, and it doesn't work. Actually, my friend was almost in tears because Liverpool got whacked last night in the Carling cup. Yes and soccer has become a very big business like the American Football in the states, the European Champions league is the big thing now, its fantastic, except that Villa are not in it, which is of course a total travesty as they are the greatest club in the world, (they are just having a couple of rough, erm decades).

The other trouble with trying to introduce American Football here is that we already have Rugby Union and Rugby League. Having three such similar games would be spreading support too thinly.

Oh there's big-time home field advantage...
Only during that particular game no one will have a decisive advantage,..but nor will the other team,..so I don't think that will really matter much.

But what of the return match?
If ManU play Chelsea in Denver and are declared the home team then the lose home advantage. When Chelsea play ManU at Stamford Bridge with full home advantage ManU have lost out.

I don't know why they would host the game over there either, especially when they have plenty of other options to begin with first...
Mexico I believe was a hit,..but if I'm not mistaken, their national sport is soccer too...I don't know...Probably a bunch of marketing directors getting greedy and putting too much on their plate.

They've tried introducing Champ style oval racing over here with limited success - the Rockingham Motor Speedway circuit is most often used with the infield track so it's normal racing but more dangerous.

Unless you're talking about home advantage being incorperated into the rules, Am Footballs home field advantage is strictly crowd induced...
The home crowd gets ballistic when the opposing team is on offense in an attempt to get the players to confuse the play call ultimately ending up in a delay of game, or a hurried play, rendering the play inefficient do to a player(whom couldn't hear the actual play) screwing the play up...
Home field in Am football has no bearing on anything other than crowd noise...and intimidation depending on the will of the opposing team...but mostly the noise.

Well, Europe is probably the only reasonable choice if they expect to expand Am footabll outside American borders...
They sure as h*** aren't going to market it in Bangladesh.

Building the stadium must have cost them big time.
They've even tried filling the calendar by staging SuperBike rounds there - it's just resulted in lots of injured riders.

If it's a Nascar sanctioned track,..it would be the equivalent to Bill Gates putting his kid through Harvard. Pennies.

Thats true as well. Maybe in the future they will develop a game that is a mix of Rugby, American Football, and Aussie rules that everyone can play, it might be interesting, they will probably have a try of that at some stage come to think of it, if it took off they could make a lot of money out of it. As for me, its Villa all the way. :-6

Well I went to my first Villa game when I was about 2 so I beat you there. But the Gunners are a good team, Henri is the man, it has to be admitted. Man they flattened Liverpool last night, 6-2 I think it was, my mate is inconsolable today HA! :wah:

essentially you're right they won't have home field advantage...but you can equally compare home field advantage to that of away disadvantage, so that would all equal out as far as any bad feelings about it...Ultimately both teams may even be better off, seeing as how every years schedule typically has an even number of home and away games, which may prove to be an advantage for both or may not depending on which, both, or if any are fortunate enough to have an extra home game scheduled next year. That will depend on which team is concidered home and which isn't, and then the schedule will obviously dictate the advantage in that regard...
But I had looked up some articles and actually found out that Nextel sponsored Nascar with a $700,000,000 deal...beating Nikes sponsorship of Manchester U I believe by nearly twice as much...Crazy.

If you're on the U.S.A team in the U.S you will automatically get the recognition you deserve...but yeah he was one of the most recognized players over here, and still is,..but to be honest, Soccer really isn't a followed sport over here...
Football(Am), Racing, Basketball, Baseball, and Hockey overshadow soccer immensely, so I'm afraid it really doesn't matter how good of a soccer player you are in the U.S, their recognition would be second rate at best.
Now if they went to help the U.S win the World Cup, you would see a dramatic rise in soccer's popularity over here...If that happened I could honestly see soccer increasing in popularity over hockey, and hockey over here is pretty average but still draws a crowd.
