You all will please excuse me for not reading the posts since I left this afternoon. I wanted to comment on this:

SPOT "You need only ask yourelf whom the average poster is going to think of when they see you making these descriptions:

People whose egos are so large they feel the need to display their verbal acuity or their viciousness in public, to the dismay of the rest of us. OR--the ones who appear cute and cuddly in one thread and viperous in another, depending on whom they like at the moment."

++++++++++ Well, Spot, I don't KNOW who they're going to think of. Since most people probably don't think of you...they might wonder if I'm speaking of any number of people. I certainly was thinking of ANY NUMBER OF PEOPLE.

Still...do you think this is a good description of your personality? I know that I didn't mention your name! Why should anyone think of YOU when your name hasn't been mentioned?

What I DO know is this--not every post is about YOU. And not every complaint about how the board is run is about YOU or your friends or anything about YOU!

Adults let posts they find offensive go by....as I do yours and those of others.

I'd expect YOU could do the same. I never, EVER mentioned you by name...and I'm really sorry you felt the need to hijack this thread and cause all the trouble you've caused AGAIN.

Perhaps you could actually manage to IGNORE me and my posts? That'd be good! Think of all the stress you could save yourself!

Yes, Glitter...you might say that. However, I'd like to remind you that I was posting MY PERSONAL OPINION (without naming any names or making it personal in any way) when Spot jumped in to attack me.

Now...perhaps YOU wouldn't come back to explain your position?

Right...I didn't think so.

I think I've every right to explain myself.

Since you often find the impulse to make a nasty comment after me....I expect you'll do so now?

The truth is often unpleasant Lulu. Them's the breaks.

It amuses me the use of the word attack all the time. As if FG members are rabid dogs and we're all walking around with gaping wounds where we've torn out flesh. I doubt you're hurt that bad Lulu. I sure didn't see any "attack." Just his opinion. It's all about OPINION isn't it.

If we have a "muck pit" we would soon all be over there and it would be uh...a forum. :wah: By the way just who decides when someone needs to go to the pit anyway? You'd need moderators for that. That seems like it would cause a whole lot of problems on its own especially when something gets misinterpreted.

It's a pity Pinkys thread has been tainted by some bickering.....sorry Pinks :-4

Maybe it would be a good idea to have a dedicated 'fight/dispute/clear the air' section IF and only IF the confrontation stayed within those boundaries.

Anyway it was good to see Far here and Minx too..:)

Probably not... I opened the door to a pub once and a beer mug shot past my

nose and broke in the street... I closed the door again and went to the next

pub!

I hasten to add that I am not advising you move on - just recounting a tale!

Very nice part of East Anglia!!!!!

Really weird here in Western Canada. The snow is typically aussie snow now - icy in parts and wettish drifts.. and sunshine!!!! Yeeeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaaa

Pinky and the rest of you, pack your bags, sunscreen, sunnies and we can barbie up some black bears!!! (Okay they're still probably asleep, but there's lots of other fine little critters here.... a salmon bake?!!) :sneaky: :-6 :-6 :-6

I'm still in Canada for another few days, Pinky, and only get briefly on line. But GEESCH where is everyone???? It's a great relief to find you still here - and a few other friends, but where have all the others gone????????????????

HUGS to you !!!!!!

A black bear once woke me up. I was camped out in Missouri. Soiled underwear scenario.... :D

Everythings gonna be OK, everyone calm down. I love ya all!

I'm sorta like Cher, I don't meddle in arguments cuz I don't take sides. I like who I like no matter what.

I don't think a 'muck pit' or whatever is a good idea, it just invites people to fight. And then things would be said in the posts that the rest of us don't understand and that would cause trouble too.

I do get tired of hearing that this place is not the same, too many newbies. Wow, that kinda hurts my feelings.:(

Sometimes we take things for granted and when it's gone, we only remember the good stuff about it. Some times I post and some times I don't. If I come across something interesting and someone has already said what I was thinking, I don't say it again. I feel like a copycat and someone who just has to post something.

I like it here. You guys are total internet junkies and find some of the best sites and pass them along to people like me who would never see them otherwise. That's great! You also have the patience of Job when it comes to explaining, to a dunce like me, how to do something on the internet and you don't make fun of me while doing it. I love looking at your pictures and hearing your stories.

I keep this place private from my coworkers in case I need to rant about one of them! I just say, "A friend of mine showed me this site" or "A friend said such and such about so and so, what do you think?". It makes for great office blabbering. (I have a co worker who is always trying to look over my shoulder to find out what I'm doing and trying to see what site I'm on. She's a site follower. But, I'm careful and I'm on to her!:wah: ).

I guess what I'm saying is, go with the flow. Mourn those that are gone but enjoy those that are here. We had a song in Girl Scouts that said, "Make new friends but keep the old, one is silver and the other gold". :) :)

(Hey, Far! It's good to see you again!)
When choosing between two evils, I always like to take the one I've never tried before.
