What's a prefect? A tattletale? Hall monitor? :-3
When choosing between two evils, I always like to take the one I've never tried before.

Yes, I remember the school perfects. Very well. And I laugh now because they mostly turned out to be either as normal as the rest of us underdogs or else they became total losers. Life had a way of evening things out after school ended and everybody had to grow up. I remember the first time I ran into a Perfect and she actually acknowledged me. In public no less. And she was actually a nice human being. School is a microcosm all its own, thank God, because that kind of behavior would never make it in the real life world.

My Son is a 'class representative', he hates the responsibility but the Head of Year picked him and the pupils can't say no.

His duties are to represent the year in School Council, check uniform in tutor periods (registration am/pm), look after new pupils with the Buddy scheme and be the go between if the kids have a problem and don't want to tell a teacher, he has to attend meetings once a fortnight with the teachers and Head of School.

He always says that he would never grass someone for something though unless it was something 'real bad'
I am nobody..nobody is perfect...therefore I must be Perfect!

I went to schools for two years that had prefects. Sure, sometimes they seemed to be a bit too big for their britches, but I guess I was lucky that they weren't particularly cliquish. I heard stories about other schools where the prefects acted like a gang, letting their friends get away with anything short of murder and giving "black marks" (demerits, whatever their school called them) to anybody who objected or fought back. Thank God it wasn't the real bad old days when every fourth- or fifth-year could treat every first-year like a slave, and even administer canings (only staff could do that at my school).
