I'd say Oktoberfest. But that happens in September.

I'm not, I'm in Scotland (or civilisation as we like to call it) but sometimes in the winter??????

The bottom end of Iceland is located at 63.39 North, still close enough for government work.

Oh october is a great month, its the start of the chilly mornings (which I love), the autumn colours, that feeling of approaching winter, it can be a bit bleak sometimes, but its great as you start to move away from that over-ripe feeling in late autumn. (if you live in a city forget any of this cause you won't notice it). At the end of October of course is the great Celtic festival of Halloween, which is good fun if you are a kid, or also if you are a wicca-type person (of which we have some), its all in all, a good month I think.

Starting this year, DST runs from March to November . This year, the clocks are turned back on Nov. 4.

Now, if they could change the "getting colder" part...

I love the smells...the leaves being burned on the allotments, casserole scenting the house, gunpowder lingering on the air, the fresh, sharp smell of the first frost, breathing in the smell of fabric softener on my scarf as I walk to work

don't like the dark mornings though. Dark when I get to work, dark when I get home from work:(

Since I live in Southeast Georgia, it does not feel like autumn yet. too warm yet...too green.

But, I decorate the front yard of my dollhouse so I have a bit of an October autumn here.

I love the cooler nights...casseroles and soups ..the wind that blows more often now bringing in the fronts.the bright snappy blue of the sky .the sharper shadows in the evenings as the sun sets..the smell of leaves burning..the aroma of hot coffee and chocolate..
