Tomorrow's the day - maybe

I went where I wanted. Of course, most of my memories with the ex were bad ones, but I refused to give him the power to haunt me. If you enjoy being somewhere, go. Eventually, you will have new memories to replace the old ones.

Tonight ex and I are meeting to hash out the rest of the separation agreement - with the meeting tomorrow - we may bypass last legal review (since we agree) and sign the d#mn thing. Each day I get stronger, and look back on the relationship less and less.

Moving forward and on...my question is... did any of you stop going to certain places so memories don't come back to haunt you, or did you just replace the old with the new? Tnx

Not so much as stopped going places, I dumped my entire friend base to keep memories away. Tough thing to do. I took the totally start from scratch route.

Good on ya New, your sounding great. Keep up the strength your doing grand. Hope the kids are adjusting too.

The best advice I hope I can give you is do exactly what you want to do in the circumstances; if it feels okay to go back to a place, then do it (but leave if you suddenly feel sad or claustrophobic) but if you don`t want to, don`t feel under any pressure to go in the first place. Good luck!

Hey NL..

Sounds like you are moving forward with your life.. good deal. You are still going to have to deal with mutual friends and such.. when they say that they are sorry to hear about the situation, just say thanks and move on. As far as going places.. you can go where you want, when you want, with whomever you want. If you feel uncomfortable going back to your favorite haunts.. find new ones.. but don't limit yourself.. hang in there.. you are making it..
