Well, girl. I'll be honest with you here. I'm not sure I'm all that interested in bike laws. Howsomeever.... I saw you had started a thread and remembered that FOC thread and how everyone seemed to like you here, so I thought I'd drop in and see what you were up to...

and it's gone!:p

Now, are you talking a motorbike or a two wheeler man powered bike laws? 'Cause I do ride a regular bike in the summer and some folks should be locked up!:D

Ok here I go again.gawd Im such a drama queen sometimes:rolleyes:;)

The motorist in England is being conned big time. We pay our road tax and at the moment I am paying more than somebody I know with a lorry.I have a 2000 small4x4 and yet my work car...a 2500 peoples carrier is cheaper to be taxed half the price.the petrol is now approx £1.06 a litre.Thats over £5 a gallon. If I have to go into a certain part of London I have to pay £8 for that.If I want to go south of the river I have to pay a toll charge.I have never claimed for an accident that has been down to me and yet my Insurance is an arm and a leg job.AA is to go on top of all that.So why the hell shouldn't somebody on a bike that causes hassle on the roads at times pay something.....they seem to have a law unto themselves regarding traffic lights and indeed think they dont have to stop.........They have no number plate for a start. Unlike me if I go through the lights I would get a fine.....They also pay no tax or insurance. The roads are not the same as they were all those years ago and I feel the laws need to be changed.I NEED a car as I live in the country and I NEED a car to get to market and I HAVE to pay for that ....big time......its about time that people who ride a bike .....are colour blind as they think red is really green .......also paid abit and to get into trouble as I would if I broke the law.

Yeee, she's back with the thread:-4

Carol, I hear ya girl. The bike riders in some of our big cities, especially New York are a nightmare. We have bike messengers that create havoc for the peds and taxi drivers. The messengers zoom through the streets and are often hit by a driver opening up their doors because they don't see the messengers....some of them are bloody eejits as they're not looking where they're going.

Hah! I hit on it and i didn't even know it!:wah:

That's what I was talking about! I make my 8 year old follow all the rules of the road and we'll pull up to a stop sign and some idiot adult will go careening right through. Mind you, I don't hope they get picked off when they pull this in front of her, however, a nice little road-burn wipe-out would be appreciated!:D

My initial comment when I read your post, Carolly, was going to be, "You drive in London?" The thought of that is probably all my worst nightmares rolled into one

Good to see ya too Carol:-6

Driving home today I almost hit an adult bike rider. He came out of nowhere and just kept riding onto the main road as if he was the only person on the road. He never looked to see if there were cars driving along the road.

I wanted so badly to stop and yell at him, but after my last encounter with road rage I tend to keep my little finger and big mouth to myself, or at least I try....:wah:

It gets worse

Has the number of bike riders in London increased very much since you were driving a cab?

I think you're totally right about the bikes hun, here, it's the bikes that cause the most accidents.

The amount of times, bikes have cut in front of me, in and out the traffic, going through red lights, talking on their mobile.

Some of them have their kids on the bike with them.....that should be a law in itself. :-5
