Ducky, Joan is one of the 'originals' on FOC, always posting jokes, poems, chatting about all sorts of things, then her hubby Tony became ill, then he had a stroke and so it went on for quite a long time. It must be devastating to watch your soul mate of 50 years or more, just deteriorate before your eyes. I have so much admiration for Joan's strength and her undoubted sense of humour - she still posted regularly on this thread for months, putting jokes on, and poems and general chat. Anybody just popping on from time to time would never have realised the trauma that was Joan's life all those months. It was only latterly really that her posts stopped. They had been getting more infrequent as time went on. I would sometimes put a message on for Joan just in case she had a read of the thread.
On MSN, yesterday, she told me she just couldn't face coming on the internet, let alone having to tell her internet friends. I dare say that in a while she may feel up to coming back, because I think she misses her computer friends. I do hope so, because she always brightens the place up whenever she posts. Joan is 78 years old today, bless her. :-6
