That's cute JJ. You're right, depression is a big negative. But it still needs to be talked about. I hope you'll reconsider and make that other post. :)

For the older women like myself. I am 50. going through the change. Talk about depression. i went to my family Dr. about 8 months ago. I just knew i was ready for the men in white coats"THEY COME TO TAKE ME AWAY --YA HA!!" My doctor a woman herself was very understanding. I told her of my issues. Not sleeping, tired in the middle of the day. HOT FLASHES:-6 night sweats:(. Feeling like i could strangle the cat:mad:) Then the usless, worthless feelings. She put her hand on my sholder, Hun, you are going through the change. You are not NUTS. Then, now i had to explain this to my husband who was searching for a nut house. That this could take up to 8 years. So if your mother, Aunt, or wife is acting not herself. Be understanding. If you are a woman. It will be your turn, someday.;) If men only knew:confused:

I don't suffer from depression, I'm used to it now and rather enjoy it.

Depression is nothing to be ashamed about and should be spoken about more often so you know you are not alone and there are people out there who feel the same.

My daughter is autistic and as an adult has found it very hard, last year she went through a deep depression but she has came through it all and is doing ok.:)

Almost without exception the reason people cannot cope with mental stress is they have a low natural anti-inflammatory status mainly a vitamin D status below 40ng 100nmol/l but also probably low omega 3 and low magnesium (all anti inflammatory agents.

Our bodies require about 5000iu/daily Vitamin D3 but mostly we don't get sufficient.

Certainly in the UK The average adult gets less than half the bodies required Vitamin D intake

Our average intake is around 2000iu/daily this results in a Vitamin D3 status about 50nmol/l or 20ng. Ideally our brains/bodies work best at 125-150nmol/l that's 50-60ng.

If you ran your car with only a third the required amount of water in the radiator would it be more likely to overheat?

If you use the wrong kind of fuel would it worked ideally?

Our brains and hearts work better on a low carb diet. We think smarter and clearer when we avoid wheat and gluten.

Improving your natural anti inflammatory status by taking 4000iu/daily of Vitamin D3 (possibly 5000iu/daily if you live in the UK as we don't have fortified milk/cereals and not much sun this year either) Omega 3 particuarly high EPA fish oil varieties at least 1.5g of EPA+DHA (that's probably 4 or more 1000mg capsules daily) are another anti inflammatory agent that will help depression as will 600mg daily of magnesium. Magnesium Taurinate is the best version for brain problems but lactate, malate or aspartate are all more effective than oxide the usual off the shelf form.

We all have bad stuff happen in our lives and it is natural to go through bad patches but in the same way the car that always has the recommended levels amount of oil/ water/air will cope more reliably under pressure than the one with less than 50% optimal oil/water/air so your brain needs proper nutrition and if you feed your brain crap food, don't exercise and don't get sufficient sunshine every day it's far more likely to fail under pressure.
