What's the deal with patchouli?

G-man was telling me that people either love it or hate it. I happen to love it and had no idea that there were such strong reactions to it... so I wore it to work.

Holy crow!~!

It turns out that one of my co-workers vehemently dislikes it. :D

Are there other strong opinions on it out there? I have a bit of a theory in the works. I'd love to gather some data.

Patchouli: Patchouli oil has a well-deserved reputation in aromatherapy, with it's deep, musky, and sweet odor, and Earth and Fire balancing energy.

I've heard of it, but didn't know what it was either. Can't even pronounce it either:confused:

I ran a guy over with my car because his clothes smelled like patchouli.

The smell sends me into this crazed maniacal uncontrollable rage.

I would kill a man for burning the stuff...no question.

:wah: I love you, GrecianUrn! We're twins!

I like patchouli, Koan. It seems to be like straight musk oil. People either love it (like me) or they hate the stuff.

I used to use it in incense a lot. Don't burn incense anymore but I still like patchouli.

I love it, I used to buy it from the body shop but they stopped selling it so I havent been able to buy any.

It must'nt be very popular because I can't find it anywhere.

I always wore it with another perfume and the mix was lovely, people always commented how nice my perfume was and asked what it was, when I told them they always said the same thing "I dont like Patchouli"

Thats all I wore in the 80's daubed on my denim jacket, it was always too harsh to go straight on my skin.

I used to go to the hippie shop or Body Shop to buy it.

Abbey you can buy it from Lush:D

G'day Koan. I don't want to be difficult but where's the poll item for those who love sex but are unfamiliar with patchouli? * :-6

*and distrust anything coming from the body shoppe.

Sounds like a pasta dish.

I probably wouldn't like it. I'm not a big perfume guy.
