I'm watching the weather channel right now

they expect this IKE Hurricane to come in on land 500 feet.

possibly damage up into Oklahoma. The size of this is huge

I had a terrible storm blow thru last night - winds 40 miles @ hour blew thru..!!

Commendable post, we wish them all well!!!:) Unfortunately however, I'm afraid that most likely all those in harms way have already evacuated their homes, & are not able to read this post. And even worse, their homes may not be there when IKE leaves! :wah:

Southern Yankee isn't in the direct path like she was in Gustav, but I hope she doesn't get too much rain and wind. Those bands stretch out forever it seems.

It was said, that IKE is "965" miles wide!!! Horrendious!!!

OMG! I hadn't heard that...unbelievable. I did hear that the size of the storm is what's keeping it from strengthening too much.

Galveston started to evacuate Wednesday

there's a family who's house is right on the beach on stilts & refuses to evacuate, they'll ride the storm - the water is at their front door & flooding their home.

IKE is expected to hit/peak tonight @ midnight, with winds over 100 miles @ hour.

Police advised all residents to write their Social Security Number on their Arms.!

OMG - I've never heard that one before...

I just saw a telecast that showed it, they said it is as big as the state of Texas.
