Just to clear something up: (I feel the need!!)



In my earlier post in this thread, I mentioned I had taken "crosstops"

(also known as "trucker's aspirin") to help stay awake while moving,

etc. and I wanted to make clear this was approx. 35 years ago. I don't

now and haven't for years done drugs of any kind. I do NOT condone

ANY kind of drug use, even marijuana. I follow a completely legal path

and believe that's the way to go.

This is horrible. I wonder what aspect of that actually gets you high ? The dealers should be tried for attempted murder or murder.

I work in a large shopping mall as a security officer, and I see the signs and effects of drug use every day - mainly because I end up having to deal with these people in one way or another, as a result of theft, anti-social behaviour etc...

Drug use is probably the number one reason for theft in the retail environment, It is a vicious, horrible little circle. I don't feel anger towards these people for stealing, I feel sorry for them.

The people we should feel anger towards are the dealers, the people who make the stuff easily available.... we need to deal with the problem at source, hit these people very, very hard with maximum penalties in special prisons.

Why do I say "Special" prisons?? Simple: a lot of prisons have their own underground drug scene, we need prisons where special, close attention is paid to the drugs issue, to ensure that there is no chance for the problem to continue to propergate.

As a final thought, seeing that drug addiction can often lead to a slow, terrible decline to death, surely we should be sentancing the dealers accordingly?

Totally agree with you there, Woppy, and that does seem to be the biggest problem. It's the Golden Rule: He who has the most gold, makes the rules. These guys can, quite frequently, afford some big-time lawyers to get them off, and then, they're right back in business. It's sick.
