I've been to almost all of Central America(except for Nicaragua and Panama), Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Canada, Mexico, and a few places in the US.

I've still got a million places I want to travel too...hopefully I'll be able to very soon!

What was your favorite place in Central America? What is highest on your list of places to visit next?

Would love to see London. Won't happen this time due to time constraits. I must be back for Christmas. I don't want to miss our church services or the look of wonder that will be on our 29 month old grandson face this year when he wakes up to the presents that Santa will have brough him. . . . . but perhaps another time..............

I just got the passport applications at the post office. I've heard it can take up to six weeks to process.

6 weeks was what I heard too........ So, I paid the extra to get my application put on the top of the stack. Got my passport in 12 days. I'd advise getting yours now and saving the extra cash for your fun in the sun...............

Sorry just got back to this thread, you asked about France.

I first visited when I was 16 (oooh soooo long ago!!) when I went with a school trip to Paris. I loved it, so much to see, love Monte Matre, Versailles, Arc de Triumphe etc didn't rave over the Louvre but I was young.

Have also been to La Rochelle - pretty area and for one day to Toulon - nice.

I think most of France is lovely and if you try to speak French they really do appreciate it. I was in a bakery behind another Brit once who just grunted and pointed, I tried to ask for our bread in French and the staff smiled at me and were very helpful.

My favorite place in Central America...hmmmmm I think that'll have to be Roatan in Honduras.

Spain is the place that ranks highest on my places to visit next, definitely. My family's from there, I have to go pay a visit to the Motherland!:D

This is what I've heard from others too. My daughter said to get one of those small phrase books, which I have done, and my hairdresser said to smile and be friendly -- they will respond.............

Hubby and I just submitted our passport forms yesterday! We'll be going to the Bahamas and Aruba in 2007 and a birth certificate is no longer enough.

We went to a Belgian resaurant for our Christmas do on Thuesday - sampled many of their fine beers (kept to the 4 - 6 % end of the range, gave the 12% offerings a miss) but I drew the line at the beer flavoured ice-cream for desert!
