Yes Lulu

Hey that brings me to a point

Deal or no Deal

anyone seen that show....

its funny let me explain it briefly there are a number of suitcases presented to a contestant he pics one and sets it aside. In them is dollar values ranging from 1 to 1 million, he then has to open 6 cases with the hopes none have a million in them and when each is opened it is shown on a board to what is opened and what is left. As he goes along a banker guy offers him an enticing amount of money to walk away and he the contestant has to determine his risk he is willing to take.... yada yada... OK so that is the show.

During this show he is allowed 3 people to join him on stage, friends or family. As well there is an audience.

My point is as things heat up for our contestant he receives support and opposition to his decisions, each one aids in determining the risk he will or will not take....

FG is the same, the more you are supported the more you are going to either support someone or something, or go against it.

this is human nature... and LULU you may be right it looks like we are standing here screaming "It is about me" when really we are on this wild rush to be heard cause we are so driven....

So this can lead to attacks and misconceptions... if so

where would the harm be in throwing it into a space of isolation? I know i am harping....

But it kind of isolates infection.

Your the same, Spot who changed his name to anastrophe to gain access into MadChatters , and called it a merrie jape, so we went along with that, but, It was the same, Spot who made sure everything that was said in private, was made public....yet, you shy away from declaring you speak of others yourself. It was the same, Spot who followed people you purport to dislike intensely into 24Hours forum ....It was the same, Spot who cut and pasted messages from , Cya onto this board, yet took umbrage when you saw your own posts made visible in here brought from , R& R. months prior to that. Your the same, Spot who manages to gloss over everything you do, yet have this pious attitude that your allowed to act out because you window dress it with your whimsical prevaricating claptrap.

The active serious threads you yearn for have been given short thrift because of your incessant need to win every debate you enter by pounding everyone into submission with streams of links , when all that's asked for is a personal opinion based on what people actually see around them daily. The same, Spot finally declared that the U.S would be one of the last places on earth you'd want to visit, giving even more credence to your ever persistent boot on everything from the USA ...including the way they choose to live their day to day lives....we happen to be the visitors in here, it's not the other way round....this is a U.S based forum. .

Sorry, Spot, but, you'd stand a better chance of becoming Cardinal if you, yourself didn't accuse "anyone" of being pious, or, state anyone else is spouting claptrap if you drew your own claws in. The notion of anyone looking for power struggle is palpable nonsense....all that happens in here is there are people who won't bow to, or defer, because they fight back, and rail against sheer hypocrisy.

One of the reasons, so many have almost given up in here is you ! I too remember it was easier to give a personal opinion in here based on no more than having lived within the community where we live, and the last thing anyone needs, is to have that opinion mocked, and the people who give it , made to look foolish and small for your gratification. Reading words like, pious & claptrap fall easily off the tongue for you, because many allow that to happen because they have a fear of you .....Christ knows why, your so obvious, but I'm one of the few who you don't impress

Your own hatred of a member that spans back to, 2005 took many in here because they had no problem with that member....now even when they are gone, you still seek that member out on other boards, your obsession with it is all too visible ...... Pious? You reek of it.

.

Two things are going to happen:

First, we will be accused of running to get you and second: you will be accused of being in a gang with us. Regardless that everything you just typed IS THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH!

Oh, and you know what else, CLance? I bet cya is flooded with someone trying to see if I went to get you!!!:driving: :wah: :D

What you need to ask yourself isn't even what you intended by the following quote, though. You need only ask yourelf whom the average poster is going to think of when they see you making these descriptions:People whose egos are so large they feel the need to display their verbal acuity or their viciousness in public, to the dismay of the rest of us. OR--the ones who appear cute and cuddly in one thread and viperous in another, depending on whom they like at the moment. As for a serious thread discussing the differences between your faction and what DG describes as a "gang jumping into disagreements" (though how two people constitute a gang baffles me), by all means start one and perhaps (as Minks suggests) we might bring this phase to an amicable conclusion.

I just saw the Clancy post, and the DG self-justification. It seems I only need to enter a thread for the pack to gather. We really qualify as a "gang", Koan and me? I'm amazed.

If a call-out thread really would help then fine, let's do it, and let's start it by asking anyone not involved to stay out while we clear matters up.

Clancy, did you manage to write all that on your own?

Far Rider;541794 wrote: Hi folks!

Let me wax nastalgic!

I loved it here, and I sort of loved everybody here too, even those I disagreed with and I tried to pick out things that I liked about those I disagreed with too. It helped keep the civility.

In the whole scheme of things my opinion was and is just my opinion, who was I to force it on anyone. I can express it and if I do and some agree than all is fine and well, if not then thats life lets move on.

Want a nice forum, then state your opinion once, clarify it if you must, but after that let it go.

It was when some could not leave it go that the problems in FG surfaced and the wars started. In retrospect it was just silly.

I let a few get to me and it casued me some paranoia about who was and who was not 'in my group'.

Let me give you an example of a charmingly exceptional poster you all have right here, loved by all, quiet, respected, and she really cares.

Chonsigirl!

Now why is she so well respected?

Becasue she states her opinions once, doesnt beat it over yer heads and then she flitters away in kindness.

I was once respected well by most here in FG, and believe me I loved it. I let a few get to me and I thought it best to leave instead of contribute to the ongoing ugliness.

I have no idea whats been going on here lately as I have pretty much stayed out of it, oh true I lurked here and there, checked threads where my name was mentioned etc.

I miss heading into the pub and cutting up a bit, dropping my opinions in the religion section and getting beat up for it here and there, I miss coming along side of a hurting member and encouraging them, I miss commenting about the craziness in the general forum. I miss expressing my emotions on a subject and telling a few of my childhood stories. I miss telling Spot and Koan they are wrong (wink)...

I miss shotgunning a troll or an advertiser!

I miss bumping up the butter thread!

I miss the snowball fights!

The utter sillyness.

I think though that one of the things that makes the forum interesting is the opposing views.

I am a warmonger type, Koan is a total pacifist, somewhere there is a balance and in our discussions I learn to be less of a warmonger. Niether of us will change though, and ya gotta laugh a bit about that.

Was that nastalgic or an exhortation?

Exhortation:

Disagree without attacking. Be civil. State your case then leave it go. Play 10 times more than you seriously discuss stuff. I think thats a good balance.

If I didnt have my own place I would strive here to help make FG more nastalgic I suppose.

Thanks for your time!

Far.
