Check this out Pheasy. There's a flight from Washington DC to London for 8 days.... price is $155 but tax included brings it up to about $523....from 1/16 to the 23. It seems cheaper to go to London than Birmingham...At least it's a non-stop flight.

Could not find anything cheaper but will keep looking...:-5

And to answer you earlier, yes I'd fly out of DC or BWI, whichever had the cheapest rates, I can go to either one in DC...Richmond is closer but more expensive to fly out of usually....the drive to dc isn't bad.

Momma always told me not to argue with an Irish woman!!:D

Bring it ONNNNNN....I would love it!

Aww bless them - they would be on the phone in mins..... Mom there's this crazy British lady here - what were you thinking!

All joking aside Wendy, what do you think - could this happen? :-4

The 16th being a Wednesday I should be able to meet you at Heathrow and make your life a misery until I dump you on the through train to Bristol if that would help.

OK. I have a paypal account, don't know how I tell people where to send money but I'm working on that - if anyone knows please enlighten me.

What would be easier would be if anyone in the UK wants to donate could they please send me a cheque - I'll bank it and put the dosh in a savings account so that it can earn money at a pitiful rate until it's needed.

If you want to contribute please pm me and I'll give you details of where to send the money.

What I won't do is publically thank people. We've done that in the past and if my memory serves me well some people didn't like that as they felt that it put pressure on others to give when they we not able or willing to do so. However I will let senders know when money is received and I will keep a list for WW to see who gave unless you wish to remain anon.

I hope that everyone agrees that I'm ok to send to, I am honest and trustworthy (well, I would say that, wouldn't I!!) and none of the money will go towards the 'Send Immy on a World Cruise' fund, although that fund is a little low now I think of it............................

Wendy, I thought you were south of me. The tickets are cheaper from Washington... but when you get back, you have a very long ride to get home. Also, long term parking in Washington is a lot of money.

I'm South of Washington DC of about an hour....In the Fredericksburg Area. I could take the metro up to National/Reagan, not sure about Dulles...either way....I wouldn't have to pay too much for parking, or get a family member to take me.

I am in total shock over this and just can't believe that it can actually happen.

Thank you to my NON-evil twin for taking care of everything, and I remember the whole thanking people in the thread deal too...I want to say thank you and give out big hugs to everyone -- so beware...if you are one of THOSE kind people....YOU will get hugged!!

But I have to fly to UK later in the year to sort out our visas. Just make sure you all take loads of pictures and post them each day :-4
