There will always be those who reject one's offer of friendship. There will always be those who get great pleasure out of hurting others. That is life. The great commandment in the Christian and Jewish sacred scriptures is love. If we extend our hand in love and it is rejected we simply go on our way to the next. We do not have to despise or hurt those who reject us but we can always hope and pray that some day things will change.

The one who offers their hand in love is doing the right thing.

We might try to understand why we have been rejected but we ought not let it bother us unnecessarily. We can always feel pity for them. That is how Jesus handled the rich young man. Jesus felt sorry for him.

Shalom

Ted:-6Why Ted do people turn away from us though when we have held out our hand to them.Sometimes that is so hard to except.I guess I am far to sensitive and have been told that so many times. But is that a bad thing?Trouble is at times I tend to hide that so well with a big "front" but theres been times when Ive sat here and broken my heart over something that at the end of the day has been quite meaningless.Again another one of those lessons I guess;)

Why do people reject us or turn away? That is an excellent question. It seems to me there are probably a multitude of reasons which most times we are not privy to. So we still hold them in love and hope for the best for them.

Too sensitive. I don't think that is a problem at all. In fact I find it very positive. It only hurts us when we let it. We can be and are sorry for those but we also realize that we do not understand the lives of those people. We do not know the joys they have had or the hells they have gone through. As children of God they deserve our respect. We turn away and move on to help others who are in need. If it is intended that we help them then our paths will cross again. Maybe next time it will be different.

Stop spending so much time worrying about the ‘afterlife’ and make the most of the life I gave to you now.

I believe that God has recently been speaking to me by way of the film No Country for old men. The film has been pretty successful commerically, but very few people seem to recognize the Christian message contained therein. I wrote an essay which details God's presence throughout the film and have posted the essay on a website. I am informed, however, that it is improper to post that information here. I will continue to speak about the film at the movie forum here at Forum Garden in the coming days.

A good film like all good literature including the Bible is open to interpretation. One may get one interpretation and someone else a different one. This does not deny the validity of any of the interpretations.
