okay i'm feeling poetic tonight so here's some more!:wah::wah:
A friend is like a shade tree
beside a summer way.
A friend is like the sunshine
that makes a perfect day.
A friend is like a tresure,
with which one will not part.
A friend is someone we turn to
when our spirits need a lift.
A friend is someone we treasure,
for our friendship is a gift.
A friend is someone who fills
our lives with beauty, joy and grace.
and makes the whole world
we live in,
a better happier place!

Lovely, Hope.
I think of all of you even when I'm away from my computer doing my real life stuff. I can't help but care when another member is hurting. I can't help but laugh when another member is funny.
I posted these pics in Carol's thread. I'm gonna post them again here just because I can.

beautiful pictures AFTR!
yeah i think of the people here when i'm out doing my real life stuff too!:-6
There is a miracle called friendship
that dwells within the heart
and you don't know how it happens
or where it even starts.
but the happiness it brings you
always gives a special lift
and you realize that friendship
is God's most precious gift.

Changing the subject a bit..........
What seems so sad is that we law-abiding citizens are advised by law enforcement to change our life styles because of the criminal element. We have to keep all our valuables out of sight and locked up. We are advised against walking alone. We are advised to shred old documents and mail before trashing it.
What are your thoughts on this?

On a lighter note................
Windchimes...................do you have them at your home? I have several and have enjoyed them for as long as I can remember.
If not............turn your volume up and listen...................and enjoy.
I love windchimes, I started collecting them a couple years ago when I gave up on trying to keep plants alive around my pool/patio area. Then we tried parakeets, but nobody fed them....... so windchimes are much easier to keep alive. :wah:

I am doing just great. Hope you are too. Glad you stopped by.
I don't know what we would without the joys of music. Listening to a favorite tune can sure lift your spirits and sometimes bring back good memories. You really don't need a radio, if you can remember a song in your head. Makes ya smile. I worked inside our poultry plant for 3 years (before I transfered to the Personnel Dept) Inside the plant, I had to hang birds on shackles all day long. The plant was noisy and busy. I would just do my job while listening to songs in my head. Helped alot.
PS. The birds were not alive. Think whole bird chickens.:wah:

I have music playing all day long at work. It makes the day go by so faster. My wife says I just found my voice. She notices me singing to the tunes while I'm working now. Never did that before. :wah: How we change with age, and for the better.

Hi AFTR!
i'm the one who said i'd come over for cake so here i am!:wah::wah:
oh music has always been such an important part of my life, i love all types of music, and yes it can help you pass the time when you're working but i hate it when a really irritating song gets stuck in your head and is there all day!:wah:
i love to sing too! i can sing, nothing to compare to Carol of course but i've sung in my church choir for about 10 years. one of my favorite bible verses is make a joyful noise unto the Lord i think that's a beautiful way to think about it and that's what i'm doing!:-6

I'm so happy to see you all here. I brought a bunch of baked goods( as you see) in case you don't want cake. Here.............you can have your cake and eat it too.
When I'm alone in my home I sometimes dance too. Feels good.
Question: Do the young folks get together and dance anymore....like we did when we were teens? It was just so fun. We had teen club in high school. Or do they generally think it's too "corny' or "uncool'?
I like your avatar, too, Idgie. Too cute!

Yes, the area Catholic schools have dances every weekend. They have the chaperones, etc. Cost is usually $5.00 and you can get pizza and soda. My kids go all the time.

Thank you all for dropping by and sharing your happy moments. :-6
Your coming here means alot to me.
I started this thread so I wouldn't be clogging the board with new threads all the time.(I'll leave that for the other folks who are more experienced at finding topics that I am I am just posting most of my stuff here....but I do visit and post on other members threads... and gladly. Sometimes I just don't know what to say. I've never been much of a "talker". I have usually been "the quiet one." I admire folks who are outspoken and can speak their minds consistently. I'm not shy.......I just like to observe. I do have a voice...and you shall hear it from time to time.

It's Mother's Day morning.....still dark, raining and thundering outside. Hubby had to work this morning, so I am alone. Maybe one of my kids will call me later....... dunno. My hubby's mom is in the hospital again and we will visit her later today. My mom passed away several years ago. I am usually happy and content with my life, but in moments like this, memories come flooding back to me like the rain outside.....my mom, my kids when they were small, hubby's mom when she was feeling better.
AFTR's advice for the day................cherish these moments with your mothers and your children. Enjoy them. Time goes by so fast.

Idgie;864510 wrote: It warmed up today. Has made the spiders come out of hibernation and are crawling everywhere.
They are neat little creatures, don't you think? Busily spinning a web, catching a live bug and pouncing on it for a meal. I had a huge, black, meaty spider, the size of a quarter walking across the floor this afternoon. I scooped him up and took him outdoors.
I wonder if others are amazed at bugs and spiders like I am?
the last word...........
I like the spiders myself. And when I see them in my house I just leave them be. They are there for a reason and they don't bother me in the least. Haven't seen any ants yet, lol.

Yes, ants are out already too. Busy little buggars they are too.
I finally got the ladybug problem under control which I am very happy about. Had millions of them. Way too many to live with.
the last word.....
I have the huge black ants that are coming down from their elevator (tree) and right into the back door. But the spiders I really could care less about. I think spiders are in the house for a reason and that's to control other things.

Spiders again?:-5
i hate spiders with a passion the way they grab a poor defenseless bug and suck the life out of it! it really upsets my sensitive nature to even think about it!
i save every bug i find in danger of a spider if possible, i actually saved a bug from a spider this morning!
but then you're talking to a girl who is so aganist killing anybody or anything that i don't even own a fly swatter!:D

We complain about the high cost of living here in the US, then we see on the news about folks who have survived tornados, and earthquakes, and hurricanes and have nothing left. The lucky ones survived, but, sadly, many have lost friends and family members. My heart goes out to them. This is time when I count my blessings and appreciate all things...important and trivial...that are in my life. I may have to pay more for gasoline............but I do have gasoline and transportation. I may have to pay more for food...........but I do have food. I may not be able to be with them as much as I would like.........but I do have a family. I may not have gotten a raise in a while...............but I do have a job. Today may not be going so well, but there is tomorrow.
Let's take a moment to count our blessings, and if we pray, pray for those folks who are really having a hard time.
