Today marks the first day of my official retirement.

I'm going to try to make ends meet on my ranch, doing work that will cover my expenses of living by barter, and not use my retirement money.

I still have passive income coming in, so I have arranged money to be delivered to non profit orgs such as churches, church ministries, missionary societies.

Anybody who's read any of my threads pretty much know what brought this on, the election of Barack Obama to the presidency of the US. I do not believe he is eligiable to be POTUS and have decided not to serve the US government in any capacity during his presidency. In short I won't contribute to the illegal and unconstitutional action which brought him into the whitehouse. I wont commit an illegal act to remove him either, so I am retiring from all government work, and doing my best not to contribute taxes to the cause of a socialist america.

I have no choice but to ride this out...

As the days past towards this day I kind of got used to the idea of having no obligations... then I have realized that I have plenty to do on the ranch and I have plenty of other things I can do for folks I know in my church and I can teach in the school, and do some things that I like to do. I'm greatfeul to God that he has seen fit to equip and bless me thus far in life so that I can be in this position.

If ya see me on here less- it means I went fishin. If ya see me on here more- it means I'm bored. I'm not gonna read the NEWS. I'm not gonna follow politics, war, or the impending doom my mind predicts. I'm just gonna wake up each monring, embrace the daylight in whatever capacity it sees fit to display itself, breath, rest, and wait to see what the day brings, then take the next day the way I took the previous day.

I don't know if I can do it to be honest, I've never been one to let grass grow under my feet- I feel like a cowboy in 1880 after barbed wire fenced in my open range... but I'll enjoy as much of the open space thats left and there seems to be plenty of it left.

The pharmacy closed at 5pm today or did you forget about your prescription?:yh_rotfl

Even if I never make a dime again I have enough to live on to excess for the rest of my life, I owe nothing to anyone.

I really don't see a losing end to this one, yet. But I'm a firm believer in making things happen no matter what the circumstances are. I will make it work one way or another.

Besides, I enjoy my days just kickin around the ranch.

Does this mean you are joining me & KE on the beach in August?:-6

Oh he will love it!:-6. Do you know yesterday in Ocean City was the Polar Bear beach day where everyone daring enough puts on their bathing suits and goes for a dive in the ocean?

just wondered, most don't retire here until 60 - 65, we just can't afford it.

even when homes are paid off, still so many bills and expenses.

property tax's are huge here also.

Amidst all the hub bub with all the workmen here this week, I have managed to make and freeze......arriabiata sauce, sausage,peppers, onions, and chicken comfort food (and I did that flippin stuff in the crock pot)....all will be frozen soon for the next few non-cooking weeks....
