I overheard the following conversation once -
'I told her that the word gullible is being taken out of the dictionary.'
'What did she say?'
'What, really?'
I walked on shaking with laughter!:wah:

I wonder if I am worried they cant get along without me. They have done fine so far I guess. Yep, I need to go look for meself. I bet you are not missing the Uni are you. Lot of pressure there. I hated all the safety measures they forced on us just before I left. Hard to get the work done.

I might argue about that. I once thought that too but I found sometimes the long way around is the sweetest. Getting lost is not so bad sometimes.

Okie - that's the poet in you!!!! Love it !!! And agree totally. I've had some of my finest adventures when hopelessly lost. And I do not miss the ANU at all. I've been invited to the 'prestigious' Town and Gown* event there next week. I'll see all the city and uni movers and shakers then. Hey, I might move and shake some, myself. Good champers will be provided too..... :sneaky:
*Last time I went to one of those I discovered that one of the Big Wigs being schmoozed was someone I'd not only known from kindergarten but had actually done a little schmoozing with, way back.. Made for an interesting evening. But I digress... weekend ... coffee!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (And Mik are Romy are on their way to Paris!! Lucky Ducks!!)

G'day Zinkers!! That's desperate indeed!!! Saturday morning here and the sun is shining. And I wonder what kinda mischief I can get into today. I've been awake now maybe half an hour, so I'm rearing to go!! :sneaky:
Saw the movie 'A Good Year' last night. I know the critics have panned it and Russell Crowe but I loved it!! Set round Apt in the Luberon. You know, I never realised they stuck that lavender in the window boxes to keep the scorpions out. WOW. I'll remember that. Great Provencal countryside. And I got to hear the old song "Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" sung in French. Interesting experience! I'm not a Russell C fan, but I thought he was drop dead gorgeous.. Oh la la !!

Heeeee, there is no doubt you will be moving and shaking. They better give ya room. There has been a lot of good things done there at your University. And Jackie Chan likes it there too. Was it his Mom who went there? I hope you do go.
Yes, Mik and Romy are very lucky but then they worked hard and they had a good role model. Sort of made their own luck.

Giggle, Okie!!! Grin. I actually got a kiss from Jackie Chan. He endowed a lab, I think, in the med school in memory of his Mum, who lived here in Canberra.

i have found that flirting is a great way to boost your ego. at my new job the ratio is almost 4 to one, women to men.
unfortunately, most of the women are married or soon to be.
i get along with dang near all of them. big surprise. but the one phrase that is driving me F-ing INSANE is...
"if i weren't married..."

Oh yes! I did that one too. Really bad..
Here is a recipe I like. I call it goulash but it is not truly goulash. Its called American Chow Mein.. I use a can of tomato sauce and some cayenne but otherwise its the same. and I dont use oregano. Might be ok.
1 pound ground beef
1 can stewed tomatoes
1 medium onion
1 tablespoon oregano- leaf, not gound
2 cups elbow macaroni
salt and pepper to taste
Cook macaroni as per package directions and set aside.
In a large skillet brown the ground beef and drain off any grease. Add the can of tomatoes and chop up. Add the diced onion and oregano salt and pepper to taste and cook together for a few minutes on low heat. Add the macaroni to the mixture and blend together. A great recipe for when crowd shows up. ( a special tip, ground beef can be cooked and frozen in zip lock bags and will keep quite well if all air is expressed from bag.)
