I got a spiral cut ham and it is already fully cooked but I took it out of the freezer yesterday and put it in the fridge. Its still hard as a rock. So I laid it on the cutting board now. I guess if worst comes to worst I can nuke it.

Let it sit in cold water, changing the water every half hour. It will defrost faster and its safer.

That's the best way, like Nomad suggested.

Heeee, isnt that a puzzle. I just had some yogurt covered coffee beans too and they were great. But to tell the truth, I have been guilty of pinching a bit of newly opened coffee and just eating it. Smells so good.

There's a big storm heading this way over the Atlantic with Gale force winds predicted. My brother's nervous as he is having his roof replaced and there are no rooftiles on at the moment and he lives in the area of Birmingham which took the brunt of last years tornado

A few years back, one of my friends had his roof ripped off as he lay in bed. He woke up looking at the sky. The house was part of a terrace and the roof beams were about 12 inches square. With the tiles on, the roof would have weighed quite a few tonnes. The entire roof was picked up by the wind, carried over a windmill and deposited in a field 100 yards away, virtually intact.:yh_ooooo

I know, Ive seen 1st hand the damage storms can do when I was in Florida. I remember one guy had an oak tree uprooted and deposited in his living room. It was standing straight up and all the branches were out the roof.

Another guy had 4' of seawater throughout the bottom fl of his house and that was only low tide. At some point you realize your helpless and you just wait....then start over. I hope your brother doesnt have to go through that.

I once had a brother inlaw that was a professional carpenter so its like so many things, the professional puts off work on his own place until he has free time for it. Anyway he was in the middle of replacing his roof and had to stop for the night so he put plastic sheeting in the roof. In the night a big rain came and the water pooled up right over his and his wifes bed. It was sagginb way down and he grabbed a broom and stood on the bed and held the plastic blob up. the kids all came in to see what the ruckus was about. Funnier when you know he sleeps in the nude.
