Hey Odie!

Hubby has another surgery scheduled for May 18th. The doctor did find cancer on the bladder and now he wants to make sure there is no cancer on the muscle tissue which is deeper. So that's the reason for the second surgery. So Hubby has to go through the catheter bit again, and the pain, etc. And I'm here for home-care, comfort and support. :-4

You did tell me they found cancer, but you weren't sure of the extent.

How will they treat it, chemo or radiation or is there another way?

I feel for him going through so much and that catheter again as I know its pain.

The treatment will depend upon what the doctor finds in the muscle tissue of the bladder when he performs surgery. We don't know yet.

Today was "Georgia On My Mind" Day. So,ofcourse.........

I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life

When I lived in the big city of Chicago, I was too young to drive. Since then, I have driven in such cities as Baltimore, Washington DC, and,ofcourse, Savannah. I am so glad that most of commuting involves less hectic country driving.

My dad used to watch the program "Victory at Sea" on television. As a child, I thought this program about war was mostly boring......until this music came on.



PS. This was the best video I could find that portrays the musiic I remember. I see that it was used on youtube as background for some kind of personal and political voice. Sorry about that.

Hubby had his second surgery today. Another week for him wearing a catheter and the pain. Ugh! Next Dr. appt will be on the 26th at his office closer to home. We will find out more then. So far so good. Fingers crossed.

While we were waiting to see the Dr, I copied down the name for the surgery procedure from Hubby's record.. "Cystourethroscopy."

I'm so sorry to know he is again in pain with a catheter, I do know how those feel!

I've had several cystoscopy's in my lifetime and yes, there is burning afterwords when you pee, tell him to drink lots of water to get rid of the fluids they inject there...it will be painful as yes the more he drinks..the more he pees..but it gets rid of quite quickly.

He rested alot today and finally ate something this evening. He wanted a couple scrambled egg sandwiches, so I fixed that for him. His body temperature is not yet stable, as he sometimes gets the chills, then sometimes feels feverish. Coffee has always been his favorite drink, and that's what he's been drinking most of the time. He took a sip of orange juice, but it make his stomach hurt. I agree about the water, but men can be hard-headed about stuff like that. :wah: He, ofcourse, feels the pain during urination. Most of the time, he's in good spirits. His sister's husband came over for a visit this afternoon. (They've known each other for many years and are just like brothers) I did go to work today and many of our co-workers asked me about him and how he is doing. I called him at dinner time to check on him and see if he needed anything.

He's laying on the couch right now watching TV.

What the heck! Hubby and I were watching TV and our flat screen just went off by itself. I've just unplugged it and am presently waiting 10 minutes to plug it back in. (I do have the manual). I'll let you know if this worked. It never happened before. ??

watch the coffee he drinks until you talk again to his doctor, it may cause irritation of the bladder... I have a bladder disease, and coffee does flare it up..

I wonder why he has a fever?

tell him if he drinks tons of water..it flushes it out faster, that burning is unreal as its the same pain as a bladder infection and I have had tons.

I think Hubby caught a bad cold along with recovering from his surgery. Not very pleasant. Since he is recovering and temporarily house-bound, it was mandatory to have a back up plan for the TV. It is an RCA LCD monitor, and even after I unplugged it for 10 minutes, even after I changed the batteries in the remote, there was power to the screen but it did not light up. So...we just moved our other regular old-fashoined TV into the livingroom and hooked it up to Direct TV. Hubby and I are watching that now...no problem. We probably will have to take the RCA screen to the TV repairman in the future. Not today though.

This morning I drove to the store right quick. I was on a mission. Hubby wanted some bottled water, so I got him some. It's good that he wants to drink more water. He hasn't much of an appetite yet, but he has been eating some.

Foggy here this morning and warm already. We watched two mockingbirds dance on the front yard. Just an easy Sunday.

Today was a "sick day" for me. I was awaken this morning about a quarter to 4 by Hubbys moaning and shivering next to me in bed. I checked on him and got up to use the bathroom. Turns out, I had symptoms of a stomach virus; returning to the bathroom several times. I called in sick, got an extra blanket, covered Hubby and snuggled next to him for awhile. Later, after Hubby got up and I checked on him, maked sure he was okay, I went back to bed to nap for a few more hours.

The term, "worried sick" comes to mind.

Good news from Hubby's urologist today....no cancer was found inside the bladder. However, he did suggest a treatment to keep the cancer at bay:

Hubby did have a urinary tract infection (his fever, chills, diaharrea), so the doctor prescibed an antibiotic.

I thought he may have had a bladder infection with a fever and still so much burning when he urinated.........glad he has some meds now.

I have heard of instillation's as others use them with my own bladder disease.

The past few days have been busy for us. Hubbys Dr appt on Thursady; sold our 5th wheeler and got our new flat screen TV on Friday, and bought a covered trailer for Hubby's woodwork on Saturday.

Hubby has been feeling better and plans to go back to work tomorrow. He is still healing so he will have to take it easy, ofcourse. He is outside in the yard right now with his bro-in-law and an old buddy "shooting the sh#t". :wah: I fixed a roast for dinner with potatoes, lima beans and creamed corn. (We bought two bushels of corn yesterday. HUbby shucked and cleaned the ears in the yard yesterdy evening, brought them in and cut the kernels off the cob. I helped bag them for the freezer.)

So how is your day going?
