68ºF right now. Suppose to hit the mid 90's this afternoon.

Right now (10:58am) it's 89f, heading to "95" later on, same thing predicted for the next few days here!!! Gotta love that A/C!:wah:

Well from all the weather models shown on the news, sometime between Thursday & Saturday we will get at minimum, a brush with Earl!!! Got my candels ready!

Tonight (9-00pm EST Melbourne, Australia) it is 10degC (50degF), cold and wet from constant drizzly rain. Tomorrow isn't going to be any better.

It's still raining just about everyday with day temps of around 14-17degC (50-63degF) and snowing every 2nd or 3rd day in the mountains above 1500m (5000ft). We still have dills saying we need the rain. We need it in our catchments not in Melbourne - most of our gardens are water logged already.

The rain is also contributing to more growth in the forests which come summer when everything dries out will just increase the fuel loads for bushfires. In 2009 we had unburnt fuel loads of 30-40t/ha (15-20Tons/acre) which this year will increase by 25-30%. If we have another catastrophic bushfire event this summer these fuel loads will make Black Saturday last year look rather pale.

Beautiful here in NE right now, sunny, 78f, and calm. (Before the strom) However, Earl is predicted to hit here later on tonight & or tomorrow morning! So I'm taking in all sailing objects!!! Hope the power stays on, we'll see!!!

Cars have you got emergency rations ready just in case the power goes out?

And do you have CERT in your area?

ahhhhhhhh good old snow, it will be roughly 2-3 months before we see that again.

You've had to to much rain, let's hope you have a better summer.

Yes tektrek thanks, have several flashlights, 2 battery lantens, (extra batteries) & 4 oil lantens, (extra oil & wicks, & matches) and a battery radio. 3 cases of bottled water, fridge full of food, many can goods -soups, beans, chilie, plus have gas grill outside. And actually a few years ago, bought an indoor portable gas grill. So we're good there, as far as CERT, none close by, hopefully won't need it, but will call 911 help if need be.

You seem to be fairly well prepared.

Let's hope you won't need all this stuff over the next day or so.

I have friends down east in Canada......still worried about the remnants from the hurricane they are getting.

Dry inland, coastal regions are on alert-no surfing for now! Surf was 10-12 last night, the surfers had a field day.

It reached 84º this afternoon with high humidy. Just had a quick 20 minute rain shower. Wow....a whole 20 minutes. Could use 20 hours of rain here.

It's gorgeous at the beach also... 76F and bright sun. I'll ride my bike this afternoon and walk along the beach also. I'll cyberly send you some seashells and pictures of surfers if I see them.

I always 'feel better safe than sorry.'

I took a long time to 'batten down the hatches' on Thursday, and we also did not have a storm.

The last time I didn't secure everything, my yard furniture was up at the beach, and my umbrella went flying and broke my table

I think Victoria is to be blown off the face of the earth today. That's just in my area . I think Victorians collectively kicked the black cat crossing our paths.
