Things got a bit outrageous after Dubs left and they were talking about going to some house of ill repute (well, connected to spot, which amounts to much the same thing) so I made my excuses (primly) and left.

FG UK 4, seconds out, Day 3. I'm going to have to write all this up eventually but for the moment all I'll get to do is type a couple of short paragraphs while swilling down a coffee and pulling on a sock. And no, there's no photo of that.

We are having fun. Some Delegates might need liniment for sore throats by now, the constant cries of "pack it in" probably refer to our general desire for an eventful weekend and I need to find my shoes. The show must go on.

Thanks for that, Spot. Looked quite an entertaining weekend and not very far from where I used to live. If I was still there, and my finances still as they were in those days, I would have jofully come along and probably brought a couple of music-loving friends to boot.

So, all I have to do is announce a meet up in Leeds, toddle off, explore the pubs and sights, and report back with photos - whether anyone else turns up or not - and that's an official meet.:yh_rotfl

It would certainly get round those train fares and board and lodging costs that stopped me going to FG UK 4.

I know my way round Leeds. Especially Harehills:sneaky::sneaky: Oh and Elland Road

Immy checking in, managed to escape from taxi driver whose first language is not English by letting pinkchick sit next to him in the front of the car, she dazzled him with her lovely smile and he let us out - although it might have been because I was sat in the back glaring at the back of his head!!





The National Gallery was very interesting but when Spot decided that it should be a lending library and started to lift The Fighting Temeraire by Turner from the walls we were forcibly ejected and threatened with arrest - almost as embarrassing as Spot's spare glasses.........



Clodhopper proved to be an ingenious fellow - not many people manage to get street entertainers up a ladder calling 'Spot' to the crowd!





A most enjoyable lunch was had by most of us but a slightly bemused Immy discovered that one of the party had been moulting pink feathers - not pink chick though, a mystery that may still be solved by closer cross-examining of Clodhopper........





Leave me alone couldn't persuade us to do that so we had to stay and ruin his evening, bless him, though he does struggle to understand accents.





All in all a very enjoyable weekend, though I'm rather worried by the thought of Jimbo's description of me being accurate :-3

Betty checking in..... I've been on a train, off a train, on a train, off a train, on a train, off a train, on a coach, off a coach, onto another train and finally arrived at the end of the line....

and managed to produce 1000 words for my essay :guitarist (just another 1000 to go tonight)

Have had a fantastic weekend, was great to meet everyone! Be back later after I've spent some time with my little urchins who were sooooo pleased to see me get off the train :-4 oh and after the last 1000 words to be handed in tomorrow :-2

Aw Boops you luck girl I wish I could have joined you again.... OM posting that pic sure brought back the memories.... I still dazzle people with my tales of that grand adventure. 2010 eh OM, gosh let's do a little prayer and hope I have my job for a good long time. What's the legal drinking age over there is it 19? maybe I can put of Italy for a year and hit up London on either our way to or from Italy in 2010 and bring Jr Minks along hehehe.

I live 10 minutes from the town centre which is handy.:-6

But not very close to Elland Road which is on the other side of the river to me. I'm not that far from Harehills though.

The legal drinking age here is 18. Though I had my first pint when I was 16 in a pub just down the road from the Victoria and Albert museum. We were on a school trip from St. Albans and a group of us sidled off at lunch time for a beer. All of us in school uniform doing the school proud. And we all got served which surprised me. Went back to the museum and did a lovely drawing of a statue of a Turkish soldier which was displayed in the school for the rest of the term.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that things start getting better soon. At the present rate, I'll be out of house and home before the end of this year.

There is an airport in Leeds, you know. (Hint, hint.)

I'm back. Gatwick was under a blanket of settling snow when I left, I doubt whether Pinkchick's getting home tonight, she went Departure-side about quarter to seven fearing the worst and it's still snowing.

Up here in Leeds we started off with a very small and light hailstones. Arabella and I watched them roll down the kitchen roof into the gutter. She was having quite a chuckle at them. It snowed a bit after I got back home this evening and mainly settled but already some of it has thawed. I'm more worried about ice tomorrow.

Just to prove me a liar. What has thawed has just come back and more. someone must have dropped a cloud while my back was turned. It's not snowing. Hang on... nope, it's not snowing!!!

Just got back, snowing when we left. Nice surprise, we got to spend 4 hours in Covent garden this morning/afternoon.

Nice to meet some really nice people but must go watch the footie now. I will return.
