Greetings!:)
I did have a good day today at work..............the "diva" in my office is on a two week vacation.

More work for me..........but the day goes by faster and it's so much more peaceful in the office. No drama.
Do you think the day goes by faster when you're busy?

I also live in the South.........Georgia. I'm one of those "dam yankees" as I am originally from the North. My ex-husband is from Georgia.....and my current hubby is also from Georgia. I enjoy living here in this rural area at this time of my life. The pace is slow and peaceful. I like looking out my window and seeing cows grazing across the road and trees swaying in the breeze and birds and rabbits.I like the faint sound of the occasional train whistle that goes by about 1/2 mile away.
I do miss my family at times. They all live up north.
My hubby and my in-laws are my family here.
Hello Along:-6,
How are ya.....good I hope.....reread one of your last posts...that would have been great...2 good friends chillin out and listening to jazz....What a lovely, cool night that would be.
You're from Georgia....what a lovely State. Can I ask where your original home is up north?
Oh, I would love living in a quiet area just looking at cows grazing and birds chirping. I love living at the beach, but it get toooooo crowded during the summer. When I first moved here 10 years ago, it was so quiet I could go out at night to look for comets and bring my coffee up to the beach at 4 AM without another soul around except for the fishermen.
Now, no matter what time I open my front door I see another face staring back at me. Sooooooo, I'm just trying to enjoy my life here and not worry about crowds.
How hot is it in Georgia now.....

Don't you hate those miserable moments with divas? I agree with you. I would rather work longer hours than put up with the diva:-6

Hello, everyone! I just got home from work. Another good day.
I'm orginally from Chicago, Illinois.(My dad's home turf). Then, when I was 13, we moved to Maryland (My mom's home turf). Starting over at 13 is hard on a young girl...making new friends, brand new school, etc. Anyone else been thru this?
It's already hot in Georgia...lower 90's. I prefer temperature to be in the 70's and lower 80's. My hubby loves to be outdoors...this is his kind of weather.:wah: What's your favorite kind of weather? I know folks who prefer the cold of winter.
We've had a mild winter, so the mosquitoes and gnats are out in force. We had a pop-up thunder storm last night. I kinda like them............as long as the power stays on and there is no damage. I'm particular about my storms.:wah:
One of my favorite memories is sitting on my grandparents front porch in Chicago while a rain-storm goes by.

Hello all!
Boy........it's hot outside...........98 degrees............and it's only early June!
I added some folks to my "friends" box.

I'm trying to find everybody.
This new forum layout is nice............but it does take a bit getting used to. So give me time to find my way around. I'm still a bit befuddled.:wah:Gees........I almost sound like a newbie.
So, tell me................what do you think of the new layout?
I've added some thoughts that were sent to me today. Hope they make you smile.

Hey Kathy Ellen and Cars!
Cars, your pics are beautiful. Thanks for sharing. I enjoy strolling through a garden. I am almost ignorant as far as naming plants, but I do enjoy them. Years ago, I did visit the Botanical Gardens near Washington, DC. What I remember most from that visit were the fragrant smells. I know. Let's go outside and smell the roses.

Oh, TM...............that is just gorgeous! I would trully enjoy walking amidst that beauty. Sometimes we do get so caught up with our daily routines that we don't take the time to enjoy the beauty that surrounds us. Just the other evening about 8:30, hubby and I stood on our small back porch and looked up at the clouds in the sky. I grabbed my camera and this is what we saw.

Same here, TM. Temperature prediction is 100 degrees. And it's only early June. I'll be staying inside enjoying the AC. I remember those days in Chicago before air-conditioning when I was a kid. Ofcourse, Chicago doesn't have the humidity that we have here in Georgia. In Chicago during the summer, it was like going outside to a hot sunny room. At night, we just kept the windows opened and hoped for a breeze. It also seemed that, before AC, you could catch the smells of summer better. And the sounds outside.

Hello ladies!
Had another good and busy day at work. Our company has not been hiring as many people now.....our departments for the most part are full. But we still have a crowd applying on hire days. Less work for me as the in-processor. Oh well, I still have plenty of work to do.

Hey, CP.............always glad to see ya pop in.
I want to comment here about another thread; the one started by Nomad on the subject of scars. I visited there yesterday and was shocked at how far the pics went in showing scars. Not my kind of thing...........so I'm not going back. On my "The Last Word" thread, I inquired if other members had scars as I do, but I did not expect or want any graphic pictures. I realize our members have a right to post what they like, but I don't like posting for "shock value." This is just my opinion, ofcourse. What do you think?

Your welcome. Usually Nomad is a funny kind of guy in his way, so I did visit at first. I just don't like stuff like that thrust upon me visually.
This photo gallery is an idea from another thread...........about folks being able to talk to anybody:wah:........including trees. I enjoy trees, their shade, their leaves swaying in the wind, their fruits, and nuts, and blossoms. Old trees have character.

So, from "trees" to Father's Day thoughts. A father is like a tall sturdy tree. Big branches to put a tire swing on for fun. Shade for hot blustery days for comfort. Tall to look up to for respect. Masterful. A provider. History.

What Makes a Dad
God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,
He called it ... Dad

Hello, TM and RG. Right now I hear thunder outside so we may get some much needed rain. We just got back from visiting my mother-in-law in the nursing home. She did talk a bit to us. It's good to be able to spend some time with her.
No, this is not like the tlw thread. We chat about alot of subjects here. We have music and pictures and cake and chili too.:wah: If and when you have time, start from the first post and read to the final post. You will probably find out a little more about myself.

Everyone is welcome to come and put in their 2 cents worth.

I appreciate all who come and post here. And I value what you have to say.

Hello AFTR. How was your weekend.

My weekends are pretty routine. Sometimes, I have to work on Saturday. If not, I do laundry and house clean. Go have lunch with hubby at work. Go grocery shopping afterwards and come home. If neither one of us works on the weekend, we sleep in, have breakfast and do whatever. I like routine most of the time. Sometimes, it's nice to do something "spur of the moment" too.
This is our phrase for the day............."spur of the moment".:wah:
Do you like to do things "spur of the moment"?

But I try to keep her under wraps.
I read a brief synopsis on that movie on IMBd. It was also called "Forever Lulu".
The characters are on a quest. It's also a story about love. Sounds cool.

A good chick flick.

Yes, spur of the moment usually means a "road trip" to New Jersey and either going to the boardwalk for the arcades or getting fresh veggies/fruit. Or going out to lunch. I have been sleeping in everyday since the kids got out of school, hence me getting here "late":wah:
