Oh, a big hockey game is tonight.

I stayed up late to watch Shanie Davis and Ohno, and I hope to see some of the ice dancing too if it's not on too late.

I have become a CURLING junkie watched the Canadian Women beat the US Women big time. Both of Canada's teams men and women are excellent and from my limited knowledge unless there is a big, big, upset should both take GOLD.

I'm watching the US men play the men of Great Britian now 1-0 USA in the 5th end. Great Britian won 3-2.

I'm no expert but can say that neither the Men's or the Women's US teams are not very good.

Heart Breaking, just beart breaking :yh_cry

With the time difference it was not on until 3.45 am here, so I did not get the chance to watch it, but all the reports say that it was a fantastic game and both teams played great. Very entertaining right to the end.

Wish I could have seen it.

That was very impressive, and more so, Amy has come across as a great personality and very likable.

She is going to do great with sponsorships and TV appearances.

I turned on curling for the little-one the other day. She had done it previously in 4H. I had thought she'd had fun.:D

Guess not:p

No need.

All of those puck swattin' gorillas, regardless of nationality... are millionaires. They are paid a fortune to play a game.

Almost all of the other Olympians will go back to their respective countries, and work everyday jobs to make a living like the rest of us.

that is always a bone of contention at the winter olympics isn't it. Both the USA and Canada teams being professional hockey players. I will never understand it. No other athlete can be a professional not sure why they are allowed.

Meh oh well so be it. life will never be glitch free will it.

My thoughts too. NHL pros in the Olympics!?:sneaky:

There's a whole pool of talented amateurs. Let them have a go, and have the olympics help bolster their lives.

...and Sweden, Finland, Russia, Czech Republic, Slovakia.

Other teams such as Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Kazakhstan probably have a few NHL players too, but the big hockey powers are all NHLers.

I remember reading about a player on the 2002 Canadian women's hockey team winning a gold medal an the Salt Lake City Olympics, then going back to her job at a Rona Cashway Building Centre about a week later.

My partner is HUGE hockey fan and sports stats hound.

He says the NHL is considering pulling their players, stopping this Olympic participation, because it's interfering with their season.

I hope it's true.

I think that would be good, put everybody on the same playing field it isn't like there isn't enough facilities out there for hockey players to practice on.

YAY we won gold last nite in Ice Dance it was a very good display of talent with both Canadians and Americans. BRAVO!
