RAVEN!! That must mean that you and Minksy are back. So do tell all how did today go. I would like a full report, starting on what time you got up!! :D

Oh and yes yesterday was quite the adventure, just a shame that I was so busy looking at my watch to fully enjoy the afternoon, and the beauty of Hyde Park. Oh well if I didn't say poo, then I surely didn't say anything bad at all right!!!?? I mean I'm an angel, even during times of madness, such as rushing to catch ones train! :wah:

Chrisssssss, hello hello, or should I say Howdy! Ohhhhhh this has been another good day for us 3. We woke up as usual at 9:00 gawd how early that is, I feel like a kid being summoned for school, There is me zzzz and a knock at the door and either Raven Or Voodoo anouncing the time like the town cryer. We got away at about 10:30 and it was a glorious sunny day and off we went to Rochester. Oh Chris the castle just took my breath away, I have never seen a real castle in my life it was mind boggling. Did you know in the morter that keeps those stones together they put sea shells in it. Wow that was cool. Ok so..... we spend about 1.5 hours exploring rochester castle, and then went to rochester cathedral, Oh My that was very interesting, all the rooms and the stained glass and the hidie holes and the beauty. We even were able to go down to the crypt and poke around. Very chilly down there, and it looks like they may conduct what we americans call "sunday school" where they take the children. We do have a tone of pics and Raven's puter is slow so I am not to sure when the pics might get posted or if at all before I go home. I do apologize in advance. After the cathedral we went for a wander down the main street, WOW straight out of Dickens, you would have loved it Chris, very quiet and very few cars aimed at us pedestrians. It was so warm out we did not need jackets ... this is fantastic as I heard rumor Calgary was expecting snow last nite.

Oh gang this has been a great trip and I am glad you all are enjoying our adventures. Tomorrow we are thinking about Leeds perhaps.

Sounds like you are having such a great time...we're so envious. I've never been to Rochester....adding to my list of places to see.

I hope that you mean you are going to Leeds Castle tomorrow not the city of Leeds 'up north'...that would take about 6 hrs to get to. Anyway...you will just love leeds castle....it's Fantastic with a capital 'F'.

Enjoy...enjoy ...enjoy ...and tell us tomorrow what it was like.

Good weather forecast until Sunday, so make the most of it...:) :yh_hugs to you all

Minks, lovely to hear from you!!!

Oh that sounds like such an excellent day that the three of you had, I wish I could of been there. Hehehe I see that you are still waking up early as usual hehehe, poor you I was naughty and laid in a little for my first day back. :wah: I can only imagine how beautiful the castle and cathedral must have been, it sounds fantastic.

No traffic you say hehehe, I had been telling people here about our little escapades with the traffic, and hence the new title I put up today!! :D

Glad to see that the weather has stayed nice. Yesterday was lovely wasn't it, so if your weather was similar to that it must have been one sunny, hot day for you. Oh and you are thinking of going to Leeds?? Are you sure, becuase that's a LONG way away from you, that's even going up north past me. If u have the time you are always welcome to come visit my town on-route and I will love to show you around, but somehow I'm guessing that it's a little out of your way.

It's good to hear from you, and I hope that you continue to have great days ahead of you!!

ah I'm sure you are right, because going to Leeds the city is surely too long. And yes the weather is supposed to be nice until the weekend, and seeing as how it has been pretty accurate lately, I hope you are able to enjoy the sun and warm weather as much as you guys can!! :)

I can't wait to see this one as well.

Ok so good weather, did you put in a special word with the big guy for us hmmmmm?

Raven wanted you to know we saw all the green men in this one. We did attempt pics but not sure what we will get.

Castle, castle castle, yes I meant castle geeze eh!!!!

hehehehehehe ;)

Well if it were near you we were travelling you bet we would drop in ... oh your poor parents.

Sidewalk sissy eh ok I should change mine to the same as I know I was darn scared whenever we saw a bicycle approach, geeze us small towners are a sorry bunch arent we.

But hey don't we know how to "Mind the Gap" well, we certainly aren't afraid of that, perhaps a little annoyed but no way is that "gap" going to get the better of us.

:wah: Oh how can anyone forget "Mind the Gap," hahaha oh how many times did we hear that. Remember when that one voice must have said it about 10 times in the space of a minute hehehe. Oh well you know that I was more of a sidewalk sissie than you were, and considering that I was going to get killed by flowers, I'm not exactly doing much to raise any macho status that I wanted to show!! :D

Yes my mum would of been shocked had you turned up on our doorstop, but I told her a lot about you all, and I know that she would really love to meet you all!!

Have a great day at Leeds castle tommorow!!! :)

If you like cathedrals, you should try Canterbury. Alternatively, if you go to Stonehenge, you should take a look at Wells Cathedral.

Go for it, you three - and watch the countryside as you drive through it too, it's even worth turning off to find a village pub for lunch.

Richard Burton was Thomas a Becket and Peter o'Toole was Henry11 Spot. circa 1964/5. I think he was nominated for an Oscar but didn't get it...:(

when I stood on the plaque that commemorates the murder...all i could see was Richard Burton lying in a pool of blood...it seemed so real.

I felt like that in the Tower of London when i touched the walls...you could almost feel the desolation of the people locked in there all those 500/600 years ago. The names carved on the walls made it even more real.

So we have one more week to fill with great adventures!

Can you guys believe it's been a week already??

We got lost in a maze today, and the peacocks were STUNNING! And the funny little peahens were just acting like 'not tonight honey, I have a headache.':wah:

Leeds castle is an absolute must do for those who go to Kent!

If you go to Cambridge you can get on the open top tourist bus and go round all the colleges you can get on and off whenever you want. You might want to stop at the American Cemetery. It is a fantastic place.

"First established on 7 December 1943, these 30.5 acres, donated by the University of Cambridge, were selected as a permanent American Military Cemetery due not only to the scenic grandeur, but also because a large proportion of American casualties occurred in this general area of East Anglia. The cemetery was dedicated on 16 July 1956."

It wasn't Paul Schofield, it was Richard Pasco and it was the RSC production of Eliot's Murder In The Cathedral in 1972 which (to my eternal regret) I didn't see, but I did for years have a double audiocassette of with which I terrified my young children by daring them to listen to it all the way through. The elder girl stuck it out and won, and then spent years quoting odd snippets and baffling adults. I think she took the tapes to her room and played them late at night.
