Hey Guyz! Nice pics, Kathy.:)

Let's all pile in my car and drive down to the nearest beach. We'll spend the day soaking the sun and splashing at the shore. We'll take a walk in the sand and people-watch. After that we'll go to PJ's Diner for some food, fun and more friends.

After that.................who knows?;)

In the front of our home is a well. It was just a bricked structure that had been covered with cement. That was it. My hubby painted it and built a wooden structure over and around it. He added a bucket, and I placed some small red white and blue flowers in the bucket. We also have a wooden eagle perched on the right side as you can see in the pic. Now, it is our patriotic wishing well. :)

Let's make a wish for our country.

Read previous post first.:)

Here are some more romantic pics of wishing wells, and one, humorous. Many of us enjoy decorating something that is mundane. A mail box, our front door, are other examples. What have you "dressed up" around your home?

Today, June 24th, is hubby and my anniversay. We've been married 11 years. The best anniversary gift for me is sharing another year with this man. That is my best anniversary gift every year. He is my lover and my good friend. I appreciate him and all he does for me throughout the year.:):-4

Hello you all!:)

I read another thread about "missing members" a few weeks ago. I found out where some of these members have gone.........to another Forum. I had been wondering how Ladycop was doing, so I went to this other forum. To get any info, I had to register, read the rules and regulations, and post a greeting. Well, I have been uninterested in posting since then and I haven't posted anything there. This other Forum is not home, and is not where my friends are. (I noted that Ladycop has moved and is doing fine. I was glad to see that. She was the first member to greet me when I came here.) So, I guess I will stay put and post here in the Garden.:) There's no place like home.

Has anyone else done this?

For many years when I was younger, I used to work OT every week! So as to meet the company's aggressive contractural deadlines, & enjoyed every extra dollar! Then one dark day, the company got a new president. And low & behold, that SOB "demanded" that all personnel that currently worked OT, must continue to work the OT! So that the company could continue to meet the aggressive contractural deadlines! However, the only difference now being that the OT would no longer be compensated by the company!!! (Employee's Free OT)

The issue being that the company needed to remain "competetive" with it's competetion, and to do that, needed to meet its aggressive deadlines without employees being compensated for their OT, to keep cost down!

So if we relished our job, we reluctantly worked the FREE OT! (20 OT hrs/wk)

(Some quit, most did not!)

Our boss had an informal meeting in his office today with three of us personnel clerks; the diva, myself and the lady who has worked here for over 28 years. No more overtime for us.............budget. Unless we have to work Saturday when the plant is in operation. The company is doing fine, but the higher cost of corn, and grain, and, ofcourse, fuel makes it necessay to watch "da money" the company has to spend. This meeting was mandated by the company president.

Okay by me...............I was just relieved that we weren't getting laid off. I was working around 41 hours a week.......so this is no big deal. We will get paid the overtime we worked this past Saturday.

Well, this should be a short work week for us. We should have that 3 day weekend to look forward to. Fourth of July!

Hubby and I are getting ready for our vacation in a couple weeks. Getting the 5th-wheeler ready for our trip to the Smokey Mountains.:)

I just got back from the hospital. My hubby had a mild heart attack at work this afternoon. He is alert and talking, but he is being monitored thoroughly. He's in the Cardiac Care unit. Tomorrow morning he will have a test to see any blockage to the heart and how much. The results of this test will determine the next actions...........surgery?

I'm a little scared.......but when I'm with him in the hospital, I try to be upbeat. I will be there bright and early tomorrow.

Your support and prayers would be appreciated.

Wow, only the very best wishes & prayers go out to your hubby & yourself!!! The micro tech surgery these days is amazing! Sometimes things have a reason for happening when they do, thank goodness you guys were not out 5th wheeling it when this happened!!! (Ya know, far from a Cardiac Care facility!)

Thank you, cars, for your support.:-6

I spent the day at the hospital. He had one stint put in this morning, and will have another put in Monday. He may get to come home Tuesday. The CCU is indeed taking very good care of him. A technician took ultrasound pictures of his chest and neck earlier this evening. Hubby is alert and in good spirits. He misses his Maxwell House coffee and his salt, however. He will be on cholestoral medication from now on.

I will be visiting him again tomorrow. The hospital is around 55 miles way, so it is a bit of a drive. But to me, definately, worth it.

His doctor did mention that he could see no reason that we couldn't go on our trip next week if hubby feels up to it.

(This is, ofcourse, the reason that I haven't been posting in the threads.)

Spent another day at the hospital. It just helps me to be there with my hubby. He's doing fine. His family has been visiting him as well.

Visiting hours are from 10-11, then 12-1, then 4-6, then 8-9. Since I live over an hour away from the hospital and have been driving by myself, I leave around 7 so I can get home before dark. The three hours between 1 and 4, I sit outside and read a book. And just watch the crows play in a nearby fountain. And watch the other people come and go.

It is something that one morning you wake up and do your usual routine and then something happens, and it can seem your whole world changes. I am so grateful that my hubby is doing fine, but I do see a life change for the future. As far as diet, physical activity, and the big "No Smoking." Hubby has always been an active person...........he may have to take it easy and slow down some. I will be there to support him, ofcourse. :-4

You really are a caring/loving/supporting wife, that I'm sure your hubby is already awear of that fact! He's a lucky man! :)

Back in 1959, there was a hit song by Dinah Washington on the raido called: "What a difference a day makes"! 24 little hours. They were only just words in song, until something happens in your life, that really makes you unterstand the magnatude of it's true meaning.

Well, we are home, safe and sound. Hubby is on meds and is taking it easy. I've been giving him alchohol rubs and making sure he takes his meds when he is supposed to. I took this week off from work and am using it as sick leave. Next week is our vacation week, but we will be home instead of in the Smokeys as planned. We may get to go up there later on this year on vacation, when hubby is ready.

I am so proud of him.............he has not smoked at all.(He has been a smoker for about 50 years) I have cut down considerably and I do not smoke around him. I just quietly leave the room for a few minutes. He has been so understanding. I just ordered some patches,(Zero-Nicotine) which should be here in a couple days. This should help those "nicotine crazies". I had planned to quit for quite some time, and hubbies illness is a good incentive. I am getting tired of having to have the ciggies with me and paying for them. Ofcourse, I am also aware of the health issues. Wish me luck!;) I will announce my "liberation" day later.:)

Any one else an ex-smoker?

My hubby gave up smoking after 15 years and GB his will power. He just threw them out and has never smoked again. I wish you the best in trying to quit and I know it isn't going to be easy. Just take one day at a time and one less cigarette at a time and I know you can do this. The worst time to try and quit is when you are under stress but you can do, I know you can :-6

I'll start.

Do you have a scar?

I do, on the left side of my chin. I tripped in school in the 6th grade and my chin hit the metal edge of the teachers desk. Didn't hurt...but bled. I had to have 14 stitches and rub coca butter on it for awhile. I don't think about it anymore...the scar is just a part of me.

Knee from knee surgery, back from back surgery and neck from neck surgery. The one that bothers me the most is the neck one, it looks like someone had slit my throat half way across.

Sorry for the double post but: Last night or early this morning, some heartless person dumped a little tiny kitten on my property. I have a pond in the back and it was crying from somewhere near that area when I woke this morning. Hubby went out and sure enough, there the kitten was just crying it's little head off. The kitten is so friendly and purrs so loud, I can't understand how a human could do such a thing. The kitten is so tiny, I can't even tell at this point if it's a male or female. I called all the animal shelters in the area and they have no space to take this kitten in. Meanwhile, I have two dogs, 1 cat, 1 parrort, and a pot belly pig. I am desperately trying to talk hubby into letting me keep the kitten. I have named the kitten Hope if it's a female and Jj if it's a male but I won't know until I go to the vet the gender of this poor little kitten. I will let you know if I get to keep the kitten but I cannot understand this cruel behavior. The kitten could have needed a drink and drowned in the pond :-5I Think the kitten was dropped off by me for a reason that only higher beings know right now :-3

Soft-hearted TM :)...............maybe you'll be able to alteast nurse the little thing for awhile. A friend or neighbor may want to take the kitten off your hands after he/she grows some. We see many abandoned pets in our area as well. It is very sad.

Hubby is still an ex-smoker and is doing well. I'm on the patch, and I can count on one hand how many ciggies I smoke in a day (never around hubby).I used to smoke 1 1/2 packs a day. So I'm getting there. I'm chewing gum right now.:wah:

Hey, TM :) Your kitten is a cutie......what pretty eyes!

I'm still on the patch. However, quitting "cold turkey" is not for me. I have cut down considerably and am changing my habits and mind-set associated with the smoking habit. Like being on the computer here with no ciggies, and after meals with no ciggies, and driving and riding in a car with no ciggies. I have to not think of smoking a ciggie as a "reward" for doing without one after a certain period of time. Smoking is not a pleasure, it's a burden. Just typing in this post is theraputic.

I'm posting, instead of puffing.:wah:

Hello my friend:-4

Good luck with giving up the cigs....if I did it ,you can too. I smoked for a long time.

I couldn't give them up slowly so I went cold turkey. Threw the last pack across the street and never smoked a cig again.

It was the hardest thing that I've ever done, and after all these years I still miss smoking.

But I'm fine now and you will be too. Good luck:-6

Thank you for your concern.:)

The patch that I use contains the following ingredients: gotu kola, skullcap, oat, peppermint, ginger root, gentian, myrrh, safflower, eucalyptus, slippery elm, licorice root, alfalfa, passion flower, sarsaparilla, bayberry, and echinacea powder. I almost feel like I can cast a spell on somebody.:wah: There is no nicotine in the patch at all.

Yesterday, hubby and I went on a mini-vacation..........to the zoo. In spite of the rain, we had a great time.Going to the zoo has always been a joy for us. Here are a few pics. I was the photographer.:)
