Do you admit to no other possible view than your own?
Sitting in your bunker you see no possibility that someone viewing life on the outside can see anything obscured by the concrete walls that surround you?
That you descend to the emotive rather than present a rational rebuttal says volumes.

Oscar, Spot, anyone else who may have infered that I was angry at them for USA bashing, you each have my most sincere apology. Let me make it clear that I still think some of you do it regularly, but instead of being clear and constructive, I was angry and it was wrong of me.
I would ask you specifcally to forgive my anger and my rash statements, in the future I will try my utmost to be clear and constructive and in truer form to what most of you know me as.
To touchstone AKA womanizing bastard, yer the **** and God help you if I ever get within arms reach of you.
May God bless the rest of you. And I really am very, very sorry for how I acted.
Fuzzy I owe you a special apology, pm coming...
BTW Iraq was a briallaint campaign, its not over and God love George Bush!

You use such apocalyptic terms. There's no chance that any armed force is going to cross the border into the US Homeland, nor into the UK if it comes to that. Any incursion you speak of is a minimal number of terrorists as it was in 2001, for example. That's not "a threat to western civilization", that's a criminal conspiracy suited to police investigation and prosecution. Fighting it abroad with massive firepower merely increases the number of volunteers for the groups defending their own territory from your armed forces, and only jingoist patriotism would describe such behaviour as terrorism.

I dont agree. For one thing it is not necessary for an actual armed force to cross the border into either one of our countries. They only have to infiltrate our societies, which they have done. They can then disrupt life and safety in much the same way that a war would. Of course they are not going to put on uniforms and try to march across the border. That is not their style or strategy. But make no mistake about it, they have done some infiltration. That is why there are attacks now and again. It can get worse. If you dont think it can then I think you are wrong....very wrong. And it is a threat to western cilvilazation.

That's perfectly legitimate evangelism, it's what the West did by sending missionaries to every corner of the earth handing out bibles and prayer. It's an entirely legitimate activity, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. If you fear religious conversion then you should make Christianity more attractive. And democracy too, if you fear that's under threat at the ballot box.

LOL I dont fear religious conversion. Our enemy is not really religious. They use religion to further their agenda.
Now that I look at your post it really does not address my last post at all. So I guess you have not reply to my last post. So we are done.

The eagerness with which Christianity has converted people is a perfectly good justification for any other to behave the same way. There are four major monotheisms, Christianity, Judaism, the Mormons and Islam. Of those, Judaism doesn't attempt evangelize and convert. There's no hard sell. The other three do - I was stopped on Park Street only a couple of months back by an American Mormon Missionary and had ten minutes chat with him. If they can do it then by God so can the Muslims as far as I'm concerned.

You were referring to people acting the way the 9/11 hijackers did? I already answered that in full! "Any incursion you speak of is a minimal number of terrorists as it was in 2001, for example. That's not "a threat to western civilization", that's a criminal conspiracy suited to police investigation and prosecution". It's not capable, however extreme, of being "a threat to western civilization", it's a criminal act.

The Amazon tribes being frenetically contacted still by Christian missionaries would tell a different story about whether it still happens. Brazil even made it illegal. I wasn't referring to "successful", I was referring to its continued existence on a large scale - and it does. Even if it didn't, there's no reason at all for Muslims not to offer evangelism to non-Muslims, I'm all for it.

You can hand me 2000 AP articles and study after study, but those are BS. I saw consistantly the relief on the common iraqis face when they started to feel secure again, and it wasnt that way while they were being terrorised by the insurgency and the criminal thugs of the terror orgs.
There's only one test and that's, as in South Vietnam, what happens once you leave. We'll just wait and see. My money says that within five years Iraq will be the most anti-American government on the planet and screaming for retribution.

Even if you count the number killed by US bombing across Indo-China between the pull-out and the fall of Saigon you can't reach that number. If you do have a try at finding sources for the number dead by year, try to get ones which distinguish on the basis of which side killed them, that extra detail will be invaluable.
I want every US citizen out of Iraq by the weekend. You got them in there that quickly, you can get them out that quickly too.

There was a song about it once.
Come on wall street don't be slow
why man this war is a go-go
there's plenty good money to be made by
supplying the army with the tools of the trade

They do not simply worship allah. They threaten the whole of western civilization. They threaten to kill non muslims. So that is reason enough to kill them. You are trying to make them sound like something they are not.

You accept that these people are Muslims because they were born that way? They didn't choose it? They just happen to be born in countries where that's the norm and has been for hundreds of years? That if you'd been born there you'd be Muslim too?

Tell me which countries the US attacked with its armed forces since you were born which didn't end up anti-American after your attack came to an end.. I have trouble remembering any.
Would it help if I gave you a list of the ones which might qualify?

I dont recall any coutnries the US hads 'invaded' since I saw born.
Lordy. I suppose it all depends on whether bombing and killing people in another country qualifies as an invasion, doesn't it.
Panama, The Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Detroit, Cambodia, Laos, Chile, Angola, Iran, Libya, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Lebanon, Grenada, Somalia, Yugoslavia, Haiti, Sudan, Afghanistan, they'll do for starters, some of them several times on different occasions.

They were born muslim...so what? I was born catholic, but I dont practice it....I am an agnostic. Everyone has a choice to choose. The fact that they are muslim is not really the point. There is a muslim move against western civilization. There are those that are using the muslim faith as an army. This is not just in one or two countries. We are not talking about countries. We are talking about an enemy entity that spans over many countries. That is why the war in Iraq is justified. The 911 terrorists were Saudis...not the point. The point is they are part of a movement. Part of that movement exists in Iraq. That is the point.

El Salvador and Nicaraugua were invaded by leftist guerrierllos from inside their own countries. They were trying to take over the governments there. They were not invaded by the US government. The US government was there to block the action by leftist guerrierllos. Guatemala was close to the same, but slightly different. There was actually a widespread movement in Central America back in the 80's. But the USA did not just go to invade them. And ...um....I have many friends from those countries, especially El Salvador. They dont hate the USA. You are wrong about those countries.

wildhorses;1083233 wrote: I dont agree.
At last! Two words together that are not just trying to mock your way through the discussion.
Could you now suggest how sending tanks and strike aircraft to invade a country that was in no way involved in the terrorism is going to stop that infiltration?

See post #296. I have already commented on this very item.
