Sheeeesh, this place is full of Poms!!! They've turned the television set to Coronation Street or BBC News at 6, shut down the barbie and the espresso machine and made pots of tea and pasties with scones, jam and clotted cream!!! Everyone's wearing pearls and twinsets. And it's drizzling rain. Struth and stone the crows!!!!

Come on my little friend... pick a pocket, nick a cardie or something and join me in Botany Bay... tlw

But you're not a pom, Cars. Yer a lemme see... pam consults Cars' profile .. you're a yankee in summer and a deep southerner / no they don't call Floridians that... um a Margaritaville :sneaky: habitant in winter. Mixed up, it looks. Like me. I went for a swim this afternoon, to wash away internet irritations, and found myself at a good aussie beach among a big crowd of Frenchies, who thought Australia would be warmer and were kinda whinging, gallicly. I mean, anyone would have done what I did... calling out 'Attention aux requins' - Mind the sharks! :D Well there could have been sharks there. Actually there's a colony of fairy penguins who like to swim around with the bathers. Then, coming back home on the ferry via the Luna Park stop... the boat was so loaded with office workers heading to Christmas parties there.. all done up as clowns, go figger, that I was late getting back, and Him Indoors had sent out a search party coz his dinner wasn't fixed and .. what was the question?... oh well.. anyway.. tlw. :-6

The poolhall's a great equalizer. In the poolhall, nobody cares how old you are, how young you are, what color your skin is or how much money you've got in your pocket... It's about how you move. I remember this kid once who could move around a pool table like nobody had ever seen. Hour after hour, rack after rack, his shots just went in. The cue was part of his arm and the balls had eyes. And the thing that made him so good was... He thought he could never miss. I know, 'cause that kid was me.

I'm enjoying the smell of the decorated pine tree in my lounge room and the gardenias... love the lights, and the carols. I've got some pressies to wrap yet, and tomorrow morning very early (like 7am) I'm going to brave the supermarket and get food etc... otherwise I steer clear of shopping malls right now. Too many stressed people. A pity. We're forecast century heat on Christmas Day. Yikes.

Two of my kids are heading to Vienna for a White Christmas (they hope)

yikes alright, I couldn't imagine a hot Christmas, that's just like seeing snow during Summer here.

I can't blame you wanting to avoid the shops, they get beyond stupid around this time of year, packed to the brim with people. We are lucky though we have our major supermarket practically next door, so we can get up early and get what we need when the doors open, otherwise it would be a nightmare!

In summer I go to my gym class early (6am) , most days, Chris. While it's cool. And it fits work times better. The gym is in my local shopping mall, and the supermarket there is open 24/7. So suits me nicely. Tomorrow it's weights. Wednesday yoga/ pilates. Thurs - kickboxing. Friday and Monday aquarobics. SPLASH. Why am I telling you this? Grin. It's that hour of the evening at the end of a long day, when I rave on a bit I guess. Went to a crazy French farce film this evening called La Doublure, lots of mistaken identity and general romping, and getting one's comeuppance for messing about. Grin. And then ate pizza. On that note, G'night..

Look after tlw well, please.
