I do hope you enjoy the forum, I've been having a lot of fun. There's a get-together in London in a few days, too - it's months since I was in a pub, so I've been looking forward to a bit of relaxation and sightseeing.

Has Australasia suddenly got the Internet? I thought it had been around for ages down under, but there's a slew of antipodeans sticking their heads out of holes all of a sudden.

I was one of the posters who suggested eliminating post counts. I suggested it because I wanted the bullying to end. Actually, I personally liked seeing the counts. It Does let you know whos been around a long time. The numbers actually form a foundation... knowing the forum has a solid base of long time members with a history. Ive been here for a year and a half. I have never had a battle, or a problem with anyone. I never have understood all of the discussion about behavior. The way we behave here is simply the way we behave in life. I do not socialize with rude, or overly agressive people. I wouldnt seek their company out here either. Everyone knows the difference between a debate, and a personalized attack. Lets introduce the stimulating topics again. To be afraid is ludicrous. Problem personalities will appear... and they will leave. This place has a wealth of intelligence and class. Small minded vindictive posters will not last. They will always know shortly that Forum Garden is simply not what they are looking for.

Hi Matilda.... Yes I am. Weve been discussing ways to avoid having discord here. There is a thread that says that everyone seems to be nervous about introducing any subject that is controversial. And so they are feeling that things are dull. Im saying dont be afraid... let things get back to normal.

Jumping in late here. Matilda, that's a great idea of calling new members seedlings instead of newbies. I think I'll adopt it. If enough of us do it, it'll catch on.

There's a strange tree in my garden. Probably the result of bird droppings. It grew just where it wanted, in an inconvenient place - flaps me in the face when I go to get in my car. I tried to chop it down a few times but it just kept on thriving. I've grown to like it!!! That' my little bit of blonde spirality for the day.. now KWAWFEE time !!!!!

Yer in good stoush mood today I see, Snooze!!! :yh_rotfl That actually wasn't quite what I meant but I'll jellywrassle you about it any time hee hee. I'm actually rather proud of being a bird dropping... as long as it's a stylish one, of course. There are some very fine weeds in my garden too.

I think it's privet. But I scored about four rowan trees the same way. Good Irish fairy thorns. Magic trees. I am very proud they chose my backyard, one corner of which has also been taken over by rampant ivy which also just arrived and did its own thing.
MEMO to self: If Weeder comes to Australia - and hopefully she will come and visit me one day - do not leave her unsupervised out there....

Wanna run the book for us, Maxi? You can cream off a bit from the takings to go with that jelly/preserve/jam..
On the subject of American pastry, I was reading in the paper here this morning that it's possible to get croissants now in a can? I've never seen that. If you don't refrigerate them apparently they get unhappy. What an irresistible concept - exploding croissants.

I was looking for his picture, and found this:
Obituary of the Pillsbury Doughboy
Please join me in remembering a great icon. Veteran Pillsbury spokesperson, The Pillsbury Doughboy, died yesterday of a severe yeast infection and complications from repeated pokes to the belly. He was 71. Doughboy was buried in a slightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out, including Mrs. Butterworth, the California Raisins, Hungry Jack, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, Captain Crunch and many others.
The graveside was piled high with flours as long-time friend, Aunt Jemima, delivered the eulogy, describing Doughboy as a man who "never knew how much he was kneaded."
Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with many turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times, even as a crusty old man, he was still considered a roll model for millions.
Toward the end it was thought he'd raise once again, but he was no tart.
Doughboy is survived by his second wife, Play Dough. They have two children and one in the oven. The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.
