we put ours in the basement and let it go dormant for the winter and then planted it in the spring and it's lived fine, but if y'all are warmer there you might could plant them earlier. the biggest problem we had was poison oak grew up the tree and wrapped itself around it. made it difficult to decorate for fear of breaking out, but we sprayed it with something and killed it!

Our local garden center has given out coupons offering free coffee and apple strudel to visitors up till 7 dec. My daughter and I are going to look at all the lovely decorations and displays tomorrow and enjoy our free coffee and strudel Yummy

our stores give away stuff on Black Friday the day after Thanksgiving to get people to come in their stores i think!

Christmas time & putting up decorations are a great time of the year Hope! We too have a rather long Christmas card list, so both my wife & I do them together. She writes the notes inside the cards, while I address the envelopes, and put on the "Christmas Stamps"!

Now that we're older, we have made it easier on ourselves with finding the perfect Christmas gifts for everyone! (We used to spend weeks of shopping, & waiting on long lines, and spend hours wrapping prezzies, only to have some of them returned anyway.) The perfect one size fits all, perfect color, never returned gift, is the "Gift Card"! We buy little "chocchies" for them & wrap the up, so "presents" can be unwrapped, but the big ones are the Cards! So far no complaints from anyone!:)

yeah with a card list as big as ours i started ordering the cards with our names already printed in them, it's not as personal as writing them yourself i know, but it saves a lot on time.

yeah we have made use of the gift card too, i know the year i was expecting Jacob and so sick i could hardly get out of bed, pretty much everybody got a gift card! :yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl
