How To Get To Heaven When You Die
Still wondering if the emotions work.
How To Get To Heaven When You Die
“It’s such a distortion of the teachings of Jesus to say that what he taught us to do personally — to love our neighbors as ourselves, help the poor — can somehow be imputed on a nation.

I absolutely don't believe that Jerry Falwell would ever say that, but I don't know his son. Evangelical Christians don't believe that way. The problem is that Liberals and Democrats define love as if you have to accept everything as ok and not sinful, even if it goes against the Bible and even if it goes against your conscience. They also DEMAND that you affirm and celebrate these things that we disagree with. That's not love. Love is when you see someone doing something that is going to hurt them or others and you warn them of the danger that they are in. It is not loving to just let them continue going in the danger and telling them that everything is ok. Since Liberals don't believe what the Bible actually says, they see no need to obey God's commandments. They see no need for salvation the way that the Bible tells us. They are going in the way of Cain. God told Cain to bring Him a blood sacrifice for his sins, but Cain brought an offering of fruits and vegetables because Cain was a gardener. Cain was not accepted because he didn't do it God's way. Able brought God a blood sacrifice and God accepted his sacrifice for his sins. Able was accepted of God. Cain was so angry that instead of coming back to God with a blood sacrifice, he murdered his brother out of jealousy.

What type of offering do they give the Lord all throughout the Old Testament? A blood Sacrifice to God. It is a symbol of Christ's blood that was shed for our sins. Since Christ's perfect sacrifice for our sins, we no longer need animal sacrifices.
Cain was instucted to bring a blood sacrifice for his sins to God, but he brought fruits and vegetables and it displeased God because it's not what God asked for. Able's offering was accepted because Able believed God and gave Him what He asked for:
3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord.
4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
6 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Because it doesn't specifically say blood sacrifice in the passage? True it doesn't, however, if you look at the rest of scripture, that is exactly what is demanded of God, so it stands to reason that that's what God asked for. What reason do you have to not believe that?

How To Get To Heaven When You Die
"I’m on a mission to rid the world of theological malarkey" - Molly T Marshall
"At the recent meeting of the Baptist World Alliance I had a friendly exchange with an interlocutor after presenting a paper. In my response I summoned an old term of uncertain but perhaps Irish origin, “malarkey, which means foolish or nonsense, to describe what I believe is a grave heresy in trinitarian thinking. My comments created a bit of a stir, so, being a theologian and educator, I feel compelled to go further in explaining its significance."

The only problem with that is that the entire Bible contradicts it. Jesus Christ is God.

How To Get To Heaven When You Die

I will let the Bible explain it and then you can explain to me how the Bible doesn't say that Jesus Christ is God:
**
THE BIBLE TEACHES THAT JESUS CHRIST IS GOD
*
There are some religions out there that believe and teach that Jesus Christ is not God. Some teach that He is a god, but not thee God. I am going to demonstrate through the word of God that He is God and created all things.
Jesus’s name “Immanuel LITERALLY means “God with us
Mt 1:23 "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us."
Isa 7:14 "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
He always existed (from everlasting):
*
Mic 5:2 (NKJV) "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, you are little among the thousands of Judah, [Yet] out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth [are] from of old, From everlasting."
*
This prophecy is of Christ's first comming. His Goings forth have been from everlasting because Christ Jesus is God.
Jesus Christ is one with the Father. He is God.
*
Joh 14:8 Philip said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us." Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, 'Show us the Father'? "Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. "Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are one God:
*
1Jo 5:7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.
Jesus declares Himself to be the great I AM of the Old Testiment. I AM is God's Name
*
Joh 8:58 Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM."
*
I am IS God. There is only one God. That God has three parts.
*
Ex 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
*
His*Disciple/Apostle Peter Admits that Jesus knows “All things (Only God knows all things)
*
Joh 21:17 He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You." Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep.
The Bible calls Jesus Christ The Great God and our Savior:
Tit 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Jesus Knows Our Thoughts
Mt 9:4 But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts?
Lu 11:17 But He, knowing their thoughts, said to them: "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls.
In Him Dwells all of the fullness of the Godhead Bodily:
Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. {rudiments: or, elements} {make a prey: or, seduce you, or, lead you astray} For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Col 1:12 ¶ Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: {his...: Gr. the Son of his love}
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
He is the image of the invisible God. All things were created by Him:
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. {in...: or, among all} 19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
*God's plurality is found in Genesis
*
Ge 1:26 ¶ Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
*
His*Disciple/Apostle Thomas Confessed Him to be God and Jesus did NOT rebuke Him for it:
*
Joh 20:27 Then He said to Thomas, "Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing."And Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!" Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
*
This verse demonstrates how God has multiple aspects. He said Let “US make man in “OUR image. He didn’t say, let me make man in My image, He said let US make man is OUR image.
*
His Apostle/Disciple John declares Christ Jesus to be God:
*
Joh 1:1 ¶ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
*
His Apostle/Disciple John declares that the world was made by Him (Jesus Christ)
*
Joh 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.
*
All things were made by Him and He was in the beginning with God (Father)
*
Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Joh 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
*
There are MANY places where He is worshipped and Jesus NEVER tells them not to worship Him, NOT once. Only God is to be worshipped, because Jesus IS God, Jesus IS worshipped:
*
Mt 2:11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. {presented: or, offered}
Mt 8:2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
Mt 9:18 ¶ While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
Mt 14:33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
Mt 15:25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
Mt 18:26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. {worshipped him: or, besought him}
*Mt 28:9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
Mt 28:17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
Mr 5:6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,
Mr 15:19 And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him.
Lu 24:52 And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:
Joh 9:38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.
Ac 10:25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.
Re 5:14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.
Scripture refers to Him as the Lord, Jesus Christ. The phrase "The Lord" is unique only to God:
Here are a few mentioning "The Lord Your God"
De 5:6 ¶ I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. {bondage: Heb. servants}
De 5:9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,
De 5:11 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
De 5:12 Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee.
Here are many calling Him Jesus Christ, The Lord.
Ac 11:17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?
Ac 15:11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
Ac 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Ac 28:31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.
Ro 1:7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Ro 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
Ro 15:30 ¶ Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;
1Co 1:3 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
1Co 16:22 If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.
2Co 1:2 Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
2Co 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. >
Eph 1:2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Eph 6:23 Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Php 1:2 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Php 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: {conversation...: or, we live or conduct ourselves as citizens of heaven, or, for obtaining heaven}
Col 1:2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1Th 1:1 ¶ Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Trinity (Three in one)
Mt 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
1Jo 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
Father, Son and Spirit Present at Christ’s Baptism:
Mt 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Conclusion: Jesus Christ is God. Not a God but the God of the bible. God has three parts. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. All are equal, yet the Son is submissive to the Father and the Holy Spirit is submissive to the Son. Jesus Christ was an EXAMPLE for us. He died on the cross for our sins so that we could go to heaven and be forgiven of our sins. He shed His blood for us.
I will let the Bible explain it and then you can explain to me how the Bible doesn't say that Jesus Christ is God:

Tit 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: {his...: Gr. the Son of his love}
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. {in...: or, among all} 19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
*
Mt 2:11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. {presented: or, offered}
Mt 18:26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. {worshipped him: or, besought him}
*Mt 28:9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail.
De 5:6 ¶ I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. {bondage: Heb. servants}
Ro 15:30 ¶ Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;
1Co 1:3 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Php 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: {conversation...: or, we live or conduct ourselves as citizens of heaven, or, for obtaining heaven}
How To Get To Heaven When You Die
All that is fine, but I think that once you have that figured out, it really boils down to how you treat other people.
how other people see your God is through how you treat them. Your God expects you to SHOW them who he is, Not who you are.
when you get that figured out, come back, and we'll talk.

How you treat others is important, but what you believe and place your faith in is what saves you with God. It also effects your behavior and treatment of others.
By your last comment are you implying that I treat people badly? If so, what do you base this claim on?

correction:
What you believe in and place your faith in is demonstrated by how you treat people, and how you allow others to treat people.

You seem to champion people who don't mind treating people badly.

The Faith/Belief precedes the action. I don't champion anyone who treats people badly, but I bet you do, while accusing me of it. That's not to say that the people that I champion haven't ever done anything wrong in the past, but if they turn away from that and try to do the right things, I don't hold it against them.

How To Get To Heaven When You Die
Except his name wasn't Immanuel. It was Jesus. Before the eating of the Fruit of the Tree of Knowledge there was no Sin, for they had no knowledge of what Sin was. Then God decided to punish them for sinning against him. Therefore God is deciding to punish someone for doing something where they couldn't possibly know any better. And what is it about a God wanting a Blood Sacrifice anyway? Doesn't that strike you as being in the slightest bit creepy? Why would a Blood Sacrifice be required to cleanse sins? If God is all powerful wouldn't he have the ability to simply say, "Let it be so"? Wouldn't a loving God be opposed to owning slaves, rather than giving instructions on how to beat them, how & who to sell them to, and how to trick Hebrew slaves into life bondage? If Moses was supposed to have written Genesis & Exodus, how come it catalogues his death? How can any rational person possibly give any credibility to this book of fantasies?

They don't want him to "Endorse Gay anything."
They just expect him to treat people the same regardless of their "orientation"
Not that I necessarily agree with either party in the case.
BTW, you're drifting pretty far off topic with this crap.

Immanuel literally means "God with us" and Jesus was God with us. They knew that it was a sin to eat of that tree of knowledge of good and evil, yet they did it. It caused the other sins after that. Blood is the life of the animal. Life is required because of sin. The truth is that the animal sacrifices could never cleans sin, they were a symbol or covering. A show of faith in God until the perfect sacrifice of Christ came. Only His perfect blood could truly wash away sins. God is allpowerful and could do it any way He wants, true and this is the way He chose. Since He is wiser and smarter than all, I trust His way. God was opposed to slavery I believe, but as in all things, sometimes God has a purpose for allowing certain things. In the case of slavery, He used it as an illustration of the bondage of sin that we have until Christ came and set us free from that bondage through the cross. The law gave guidelines for it. First of all, it was voluntary to pay off a debt in most cases and it was for a period of 7 years. Secondly, anyone who was caught forcing people into slavery against their will was to be put to death. Moses wrote those books, but God inspired them and told Him what to write. Either God revealed to Moses the circumstances of his death before hand and he wrote it down, OR Joshua, who took over for Moses after he died possibly wrote it. I don't see how any rational person could give any credibility to a book of fantasies, however, I am very thankful that the Bible is not a book of fantasies, it is the very Word of God.

He does treat everyone the same regardless of orientation. The only thing he won't do is make a cake specifically for a gay wedding. Just like you wouldn't expect a muslim caterer to cater a pig roast right? Or a black man to make a cake for a KKK rally.
I don't feel it's off topic in that it shows how Christians are being persecuted for their faith is the point.

And, actually, if a Muslim were to be in the catering business, and had roast pig on his menu, I would expect him to cater a Pig Roast. Just like the Jew who owned the Deli in NY that served Ham Sandwiches.
The Word does not say that you cannot feed pork to the Goyim, it only said that The People should not eat it.

Muslims believe that even touching a pig would send them to hell, so I think you would be hard pressed to find a muslim willing to do that. Should be discriminate against all of them and force them all to violate their religious beliefs? Jews on the other hand, I don't think that by serving ham or touching it, they believe that they will go to hell. The Mosaic law forbids them to eat it though, yes, which is where the muslims copied their false religion from.
Also, so then you are comfortable with forcing a black man to cater a KKK cake for a KKK rally?

Have you ever actually discussed what a Muslim might believe? Or even researched the religion of Islam?
Buddhism? Hindu? Sikh, Shinto? From a lot of your posts, I am not even sure you discuss or research the Christian Faith.
You have consistently shown you don't really know what the Bible says. Only the parts that support your rather single-minded interpretation of Christian belief.
You seem to get all your information from a very narrow source list, and take everything as gospel from those sources.
That WND site is about as reliable as the National Enquirer.
And I have not seen you do much actual explaining.
And what names have I called you?
I has said that you seem to be rather ignorant. You reject most of what people say that contradicts your personal beliefs.
My most recent comment about your ignorance was due to you obvious lack of what is really "general knowledge" in that post.
Sorry, I had promised myself that I would not make this personal, but alas, there it is.
Too bad. You once showed such promise.

It's opposite. The fundies DO trust in God, which is why they actually BELIEVE what His Word says, unlike Liberals who arrogantly think they can just make things up as they go.

Buddhism?
I have been friends with people who are of those religions. The reason that I know that all of those religions are false and Christianity is true is because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He proved who He is and His authority. He fulfilled hundreds of Biblical prophecies and pointed people to the Bible as our source for truth. I can't believe that you don't think I know anything about the Bible. Just what it is that you think that I am misinterpreting in the Bible? Show me some verses that I am misinterpreting.

There are dozens of historical writings from His day and shortly after from the Historians of His day that verify the eyewitness, Biblical accounts. That's very important because had Christ not really risen from the dead, Christianity would have die out right them. Instead it exploded. I can't believe that you don't think I know anything about the Bible. Just what it is that you think that I am misinterpreting in the Bible? Show me some verses that I am misinterpreting.

Fundies are the only true form of Christianity. They accept the entire Bible as the Word of God, so that's not true what you said.

How To Get To Heaven When You Die
The words of a true Fundamentalist:
As evangelicals, we have a tendency to think that if people just "get their hearts right with Jesus," then we can solve a host of systemic problems, from racism to gun violence, from abortion to poverty.
While personal conversion is an important aspect of the Kingdom of God, it is not the fullness of the Kingdom. To say it another way, the power of God's salvation reaches even into our systems and structures, redeeming them and showing them a better way.
So, the church cannot simply make conversion its only strategy for addressing injustice. It must bear witness to the inbreaking Kingdom of God by showing the world a more just and peaceable way of living.

The kind of Christianity that accepts all faiths, adds to the Gospel is not real Christianity.
Question: How would a person know if they are going to heaven when they die?

Most Christians are not so concerned with where they will go when they die. That was decided for them a very long time ago.
They are more concerned how they show the face of God to those who need to see Him.

According to Jesus Himself, we need to be VERY concerned about where we will go when we die because we either go to heaven or hell and hell is a place of utter horror and hopelessness. He is going to be the one judging all in the afterlife, don't you think we aught to listen to Him?
Mark 9:43 And if your hand offend you, cut it off: it is better for you to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
44Where the worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched.
45And if your foot offends you, cut it off: it is better for you to enter lame into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
46Where the worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched.
47And if your eye offend you, pluck it out: it is better for you to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
48Where the worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched.

So, I don't understand how you could interpret what Jesus said in these passages and many more in a good way.
