Just poppin in for a little bit while I'm shoppin on the net for a couple of books I've been trying to find, and no doubt I'll come across 500 other things I will "need" to get too :wah:
Gee we've had some beautiful weather here lately, which is strange for the middle of winter. On the weekend I went to mow my shoulder length lawn, (well, its not far off!), I was having a fit of motivation which for me is like a Halleys comet - it only happens every 75 years! The mower went well for the front lawn and when I took it round the back the damn pull cord broke. So now I'll have to wait for another 75 years till I get motivated enough to finish it.
Or I might pull a bit of wire off the fence and let the sheep in the paddock next door take care of it for me :sneaky: Much more environmentally friendly too!
Hi Koo, ere long grass is bad for sheep Mrs !
I reckon you could do with one of these ................................

Yup, hot & sticky today here too. I can look on the bright side and listen to the noise of the ciccada's. Loud little critters but enjoyable to listen to.
Did you get the tank with the pump and all that? You're fishies will do much better in that kind of tank. Don't forget the gravel for the bottom. And you might want to invest in an algae eater fish.
Yes we got a new tank with a filter, pump and a light, new lovely blue pebble gravel and some live plants. Leaving it to stabilize now till Sunday then move the fish in..Ill post pics then.

It's just a glorified garden shed :wah: One room. There is a double burner/grill, several cupboards, long bench seat at the back, two 'drop-down' tables, and a 'portapotti' for comfort breaks :wah:

(The public toilet is quite a walk away - dodgey if one gets urgent :wah:). It isn't meant for over-night stays, although one could manage it if it was necessary !

well my dad didnt do too good in the latest tests and they want to come out and do a house check now before he can go home,, only thing is they cant come out till thursday,,, the woman was gonna come back to talk to my mam and asked her how long she would be there,,, then when she didnt come back and it was time for my mam to go ,,, the woman had gone!:-5 it was the last straw for my mother,,, she had a right go,,, said he has been in here 11 days and had 3 tests,, its a disgrace. They said he must not be left alone at any time as he is not safe,,, thats done my job for me as i was going to call my siblings and tell them we all need to help out that way,, even if we can go and sit with him for a morning or an afternon or even just a couple of hours,, there are four of us so that makes four times at the very least my mother can get out of the house,, also she has to go out sometimes ,, for shopping etc. Anyway im going to get off to go see him ,, mam says i have to ask him if he is prepared to stay in till thursday and if so ask the nurse to tell them to go ahead with the house check. Even though he is no worse than he has been for the past six months,, now suddenly they need to do all these checks oh gr:-5:-5

Hi im back:) well my dad is stayng in till thursday when the occ. therapist comes to my mams house for a home visit to check everything is ok and see what we can get sorted. he cant be left alone at all, and i think they want my mam to agree to carers,, but my dad really dont want strangers looking after him or to be left with a stranger, and anyway there is no need when they have four children and plenty grandchildren. I have spoken to my bropther and two sisters and told them we need to help when he comes out,, i reckon if we can each give at the very least a morning or afternoon once every week then that is at least four times my mam can get out and do shopping etc. or even just get out for a break. thats without any extra help we may give or from the grandkids. My brother and sisters have said they have got no probs with this,, even though my brother and one of my sisters works full time,so hopefully this will work and now i have to convince the hospital of it..so im going to be there to support my mam when they come out thursday morning.
Anywayyyyyyyyy i think i have gone on about this for long enough today:rolleyes: hows everybody else here doing?:-4

Hi Kaz, what a pickle. Sorry your dad can't be left on his own now. I can see the reasoning behind that, as it would be awful if he fell and there was nobody there !
You must be very worried for both your dad and your mum. Would it not be an idea to gradually introduce a carer whilst you or one of your siblings were there, to stay as long as the carer, so that your dad would become familiar with the carer and they would not be strangers ? Just a thought
Thinking of you Kaz, and your mum and dad. xxx

Hi Carol, what a sad job you've got to do, the passing of an era. But as you say, who's to say what will occur in the future. There are reasons for everything. Try to keep all your chins up Mrs. I know that doesn't help the moment, sorry.

all those threats of violent storms came to nothing after all yesterday, unless they happened somewhere else !!
mind you, we've had some very heavey sharp showers today that didnt last long but flooded bits of the town !!
got some extra nights work now til the end of the season ( theres only about 6wks left of it ). things are really bad everywhere down here so got to make a few extra bucks while i can.
gill,
that was so sad about the GS, but he didnt look right when she was feeding him at the end though did he ?? just something about his eyes.
