I have just had a rapid read through of the list, not everyone obviously, but the crusty dragon is the only one I have NEVER heard.

A 'crusty' can mean an old person, as in stale around the edges.

And 'dragon' can mean an angry or unpleasant female.

But I have never heard them put together to mean a crisp 'Bogey'

I wonder if it has slipped past me, has any other Brit heard it ?

Strange isn't it Bruv? :yh_rotfl I must admit my ignorance of that particular phrase too. I've heard of lettuce leaf meaning the dangley bits from the nose mostly produced by a child. My son, some time ago mentioned a bat up the cave meaning similar to a bogey ! :yh_sick

Oh it's all very edifying innit?

Do we get the same questions? I didn't see any of your questions--I probably would've known those answers more than my dismal French translation.

It's probably to stop somebody C & P ing them, checking the answers so they are correct, then passing the info to a fellow competitor ! I suppose it minimises cheating. Mind you what's the point of cheating ???

The idea is that all o the questions come out of a pot with the same level of difficulty and that, over the month, any anomalies balance themself out.

The bit I don't like is the scoring system - you could have a computed total of 900 to my 350 but, because of the number of players today and our position we get the same number of points towards the month's total. What's wrong with the calculated total, at least it's fair and consistent.

I can't seem to stop myself from reading every question twice, the way I did when I was studying for tests, eons ago. I know that affects your score. Also when I double think I get a couple of them wrong. At least I stopped looking them up in the dictionary. I couldn't find the answers anyway. lol

I thought trade names got into the translation somewhere. Don't you call all painkillers Tylenol and then a code letter? Can you go into a pharmacy and ask for Aspirin?

That is by far the MOST difficult test yet. Full of very technical questions I wonder if my daughter who is a scientist would know the answers. I'll call her tonight.
