Hmm good question Chonsi, I have no idea. To be honest I'd just be happy with my family cheering up (they have all been a bit gloomy lately,) and of course some snow. :)

That's snow true! (Ok that was really, really bad!! :D )

Funny thing is, I used to hate the stuff when I was young, used to frighten me to death, but now completely the opposite.

It is very pretty, I think it is so quiet and serene when the snow is finished.

But the cold, no way, Jose!:-6

That's true, the cold can really get to you. Infact it's so cold today that for the first time this year, I'm sitting here with gloves on. Mind you trying to type on the keyboard with gloves on is pretty tricky let me tell you hahaha.

That's good to hear. Do you usually take things easy on the last day of term? We used to do Christmas crosswords, sing carols and watch videos on the last day, it was always my favourite time of the school year!! :)

for years i took Christmas movies over to the jail to be played for the inmates. it's a wonderful life, a Christmas carol, etc. all with a redeeming message. but the LT at the jail told me last year it wasn't allowed. i think that stinks.

Gosh LC, what could be wrong with showing good movies and making them think good thoughts?

it was a privilege to watch movies for the inmates. they get 2 hours of PBS every night. but i used to sneak in movies when they had been 'good'. they loved it it and enjoyed it. i don't see the harm. when i would visit the jail the inmates would say "LC, got a movie for us?" then when i did it, it would be quiet in the blocks for the evening. i have no idea why the LT decided against it. not a lot he did made sense. the tower operators always loved it when the inmates were happily watching a movie. i did it all year until i got chastised for it. :(

That does seem really strange. If the inmates are happy watching them, and it keeps them quiet, then surely the guards would approve, and be happy for you to continue showing them a movie. I mean it's not as if you were even doing it everyday or something. Strange!

Or is it all about family and friends and exchanging crap that you don't really want to begin with? Going to church early christmas eve so that 'christ' doesn't interrupt your christmas morning? Giving cash or gift cards because you can't be bothered to really know what might interest them, but feel you need to spend a certain amount per head....

Christmas isn't christmas anymore, it's a 'blue light' special at kmart..

Christmas to me has awlays been about family and friends, but I have never lost the intent of spreading the cheer of christmas, its a feeling, about good will to anyone that needs it at the moment!

So, here's a smile and a hug for you Floppy!

Yesterday My wife & I took our Granddaughter to Radio City Music Hall, in NYC.

Their Christmas Show they performed was positively magical, & fantastically glorious!! The world famous "Rockettes" performed many precision dance routines, that were absolutely spectacular!!! Our favoriate was their march of the "Wooden Toy Soldiers" routine! :)

We all enjoyed the show immensely, & it most certainly sent everyone leaving there with having a joyous Christmas spirit !!! :)

(BTW: It did not rain like it was forcast last Monday, so that made the trip great)

great show, saw it twice when my daughter moved to nyc, three years ago. they should make a movie of it so every child can see it.
