Well Gill that was pot luck with Chayden he woke last night but just the once.

Having a crap of a time with my painting....started painting the ceiling and the paint started peeling off so now hav to sand it seal it undercoat it then paint it grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....in between minding babies and doing housework :(

Hubby goes into hospital next Monday for his back operation....apparently its going to be a bigger op than we first thought.

Another hot hot day today with a cold change coming tonight so dont know if I will get much painting done.......might just do the sanding if my neck dosent break in the meantime....its soooooo sore with looking up to the ceiling.

Anyhow luv to you all and tc :-4

Hi everybody !

Hope you are all having a good day, whatever the weather ! I've got to try to defrost me freezer part of my fridge/feezer today cos it's gettin a bit silly with all that ice ! Fortunately we have an old 'Prescold' fridge which can turn right down and cause liquids to freeze ! So if we put our frozens into this very cold fridge, hopefully the food won't defrost ! :-3

Hello Angela,

I have some intermittent trouble with my 'router' which causes me to be disconnected from the internet. I switch it off for a short while, then on again, quite often this does the trick! Perhaps you could let us know how and what when you've got yours sorted !:-5

Hi Helen, I saw a documentary report some time ago about how these decorations were organised and put up. Particularly interesting were the ones that were on the water ! Thought the decorations were lovely, and that all involved must have worked very hard to present such an attractive display. You were very lucky to have seen them 'in the flesh' so to speak ! :D

Hi Kinks, glad you're back 'online' now and hope things will continue to be OK. I bet you had withdrawal symptoms ! :-5

Obituary

Common Sense

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn't always fair, and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Aspirin, sun lotion or a sticky plaster to a student; but could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar can sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by three stepbrothers; I Know my Rights, Someone Else is to Blame, and I'm a Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.....................

Nite Nite Guys and good to see some old friends again.xxxxxxxxxxxx

Carol I don't know where you got that from, but it certainly sums up what is happening to this country. Do you realise there have been over 600 laws passed by Europe this year alone and the UK hasn't had a say in any of them ! Europe is the dictator and the UK is being bled dry ( £47 million per day to Europe from UK) and crushed under foot because our 'government' has no back bone, it isn't just the Libdems who has yellow as their colour. WE HAVE GOT TO GET OUT OF EUROPE so we can re-instate our own laws, regain control of our own destiny, build up our industries once again. Get control over immigration - we are sinking fast, we have no more room - we are loosing all our so-called 'green belt' to build housing for all these immigrants. COMMON SENSE HAS ALREADY DIED - - UK IS NOW SERIOUSLY ILL, AND COULD GO CRITICAL IMMINENTLY.

morning everyone.

better day here, suns out but its a bit chilly, i can do cold and dry but cold and wet is another matter :-2

its my barrie's 2nd aniversary tomorrow and things are getting on top of me a bit. a mate of his came into the shop yesterday, when i asked him if they were going to continue barrie's memorial darts match this year, he just nodded, niether of us could speak to each other !!

now i'll tell you something strange that happened last night.......

i was sitting watching telly, fairly late, when wallace shot off the bed and stood staring at the ceiling, above the door, frantically wagging his tail. he kept this up for about 2/3 minits. its not the first time he's done it and my boss's daughter has seen him do it too.

My Poem

I knelt to pray but not for long,

There is so much to do.

I had to hurry and get my walk

For Sopie's benefit too

So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,

And struggled up off my knees.

My Daily Prayers were now done

My mind refreshed anew

All day long I 'd had no time

To spread a word of cheer

No time to speak with all my friends,

They'd laugh with me I'm sure

No time, no time, too much to do,

That was my constant cry,

No time to give to friends in need

that very special deed,

So here I am with all my gifts

of caring and friendship too.

:)

Thanks Joan that was lovely:-6:-4
