well you guys like barbecue? we have a very good sort of thick spicy sausage which is very good donw on a barbecue ...

btw we call a barbecue a "braai" pronounced BRI or BRY ... its an afrikaans word but all us english people use it and even the indigenous black people here use the word ...

a lot of our food is like very american cos there is a very big american influence here in terms of fast foods ... we have all the usual outlets like KFC McDonalds wimpy etc ..

most of out traditional foods are sort of based on the dutch/holland recipes as the dutch were the first colonists arriving here in the 17th century ...

my anscestors only arried here from britain in the mid 19th century and brough the british traditions with them ...

Umm, Idgie if you ever get to the beach, they serve it at almost every restaurant. Very good with a marinara dipping sauce.

my paternal ancestors the ones who came from france owned a huge plantation here, it's since been divided up and given to their children and gradchildren down through the years, but i've got several ancestors who fought in the civil war and one who fought in the revolutionary war!

gone with the wind is one of my favorites too, have you read the sequel Scarlett?
