I dunno, but Fargo was supposedly based on a true story. Disturbing, is it not?

Really? Uhh.

I also love "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd. Something about the lovely vocals nearly makes me weep.

I saw a show about them in the Omni theatre in Munich on New Years Eve 1998. They sing the song about: 'We don't need no education' don't they?

This is really a tough question - as it depends very much on one's mood at the time.

Maybe it's because of my nomadic nature, but I lean towards roadie songs... like Canned Heat "On the Road Again" or maybe Rod Stewart's "Gasoline Alley"... .. too hard. Maybe this one..

Katy Cruel

When I first came to town

They called me the roving jewel

Now they've changed their tune

They call me Katy Cruel

Oh diddle day, oh diddle lie o day

Oh that I was where I would be

Then I would be where I am not

Here I am where I must be

Go where I would, I can not

Oh diddle day, oh diddle lie o day

When I first came to town

They brought me the bottles plenty

Now they've changed their tune

They bring me the bottles empty

Oh diddle day, oh diddle lie o day

CHORUS

I know who I love

And I know who does love me

I know where I'm going

And I know whose going with me

Oh diddle day, oh diddle lie o day

CHORUS

Down the road I go

And through the boggy mire

Straight way cross the field

And to my heart's desire

Oh, diddle day, oh, diddle lie o day

CHORUS

"Living Years " by Mike and the Mechanics always leaves a lump in my throat. It actually reduced Rolf Harris to tears live on TV.

I wrote a song myself with a similar theme once and my mate used to refer to it as "Krams Living Years"

Unfortunately, I haven't been blessed with the wonderful tones of Paul Carrack

This is an almost impossible question, I have staples of music Ill always have, if the cd gets lost it will be replaced. Marvin Gaye's Whats Going On for example, It will always be in my collection. Im reluctant to even try but for the sake of the thread Ill say She Moved Through The Fair by Loreena

Mc Kinnet is particularly moving to me.

There should be a law which compels everyone to have a copy of "Whats Goin' On" in their collection. Social and environmental commentary years ahead of its time.

I agree. There should be a law. Anyone unfamiliar with these tracks of soulful crys for a better world should rush right out and make the purchase, I cant think of one album thats made such a lasting and poignant mark on the sign of the times.

Except perhaps Beavis & Butthead the movie soundtrack. That just chews me up.

The artists I listed performed Summer Breeze as written by Seals and Crofts. I just thought I'd point out that other writers also penned songs called Summer Breeze, but, obviously, these are not the same song.

Here is a sample of the Seals and Crofts "Summer Breeze"

I betcha you heard it before, maybe it wasn't as big a hit over there.....

Just thought I'd check this out. While I like Sweet Leaf, I've never thought that Black Sabbath or Ozzy could ever do it justice (playing the song, that is).

I now know that the following performers have recorded this song on their albums (mostly albums dedicated to Black Sabbath).

Agent Steel, Cadaver, The Casualties of Jazz, Galactic, Robbie Gennet, Godsmack, Gov't Mule, Green Carnation, Bud E. Luv, Mogwai, Next Step Up, Sacred Reich, Six Feet Under, String Quartet, and Widespread Panic.

I'll be trying to hear some of these and make an assessment.

We're going to hafta have a Big Singalong in here UncleKram. I'd love to hear your version!!

Nomad - Canberra has quite a big Irish community of which I'm an occasional honorary member (as I studied Irish language at one stage) and I get to play flute at ceilis from time to time. One evening there was a young woman at one who asked me to accompany her on She Moved Through the Fair. After the first few bars I just stopped playing. This fairy voice, high and clear and pure.. and that song. Unaccompanied. Everyone just shut up, gobsmacked (and that's pretty rare in a ceili). As for me, I felt like I'd been lifted somehow out of time and place - an otherworldly experience I'll carry with me always.

Philistines!!! I made beautiful music!!!!!!!!!! Struth, they don't know when they're bloody well off - a free concert from a chantooosy goddess... ya don't get that every day. Anyway, I may need expensive therapy to work through the trauma of this rejection...

Could maybe be persuaded to settle for a large cold tinnie. On you!! Okay?!

Love is a doing word

Feathers on my breath

Gentle impulsion

Shakes me makes me lighter

Feathers on my breath

Teardrop on the fire

Feathers on my breath

Nine night of matter

Black flowers blossom

Feathers on my breath

Black flowers blossom

Feathers on my breath

Teardrop on the fire

Feathers on my

Water is my eye

Most faithful mirror

Feathers on my breath

Teardrop on the fire of a confession

Feathers on my breath

Most faithful mirror

Feathers on my breath

Teardrop on the fire

Feathers on my breath

You're stumbling in the dark

You're stumbling in the dark

I have no idea on the Black Flower song. I've been stuck on some choo choo song I heard last night at the club.

It was somethign like

Come on Come ride it

the choo choo rider.

Have no idea who it is, just that lyric running over and over in my head.
