Do you have a problem with illegal aliens over there, Bez? Over here, farmers say we'd never be able to afford winkles if it weren't for migrant workers keeping costs down. :(

Going off topic, spiralling blondely or otherwise behaving in a random manner - is something I for one, absolutely never, ever do. Not only is it unethical, and unladylike, and against my religion, but it's politically incorrect, fattening, morally reprehensible and just durn infuriating. Here in Australia, such behaviour is considered worse than bludging (not pulling one's weight) or wanking (you can go blind from that) and is known as kangaroo-hopping from paddock to paddock.

It's 3 glasses now Betty...Sunday is 'me' day so after washing, cleaning windows, sorting wardrobes etc etc , I reckon a few glasses of wine are my reward. I was going to cut the grass, but I've decided it would be against 'Health and Safety regulations' .... inebriated in charge of an electric mower....not a good idea....I was also going for a bike ride but 'unwise' springs to mind.

Sounds like you had a good time last night..did you go out somewhere ? or are you a 'closet' drinker like me ??

SnoozeControl wrote: Dawson City, Yukon Territory -- A toe is staring back at me from the bottom of my glass at the Sourdough Saloon, magnified by a good measure of high-octane alcohol.

I take a deep breath and drink quickly, making certain the pickled human digit touches my lips, however briefly, to qualify for membership in the Sourtoe Cocktail Club.

The tradition started years ago as a rite to initiate someone who became a "Sourdough," a true northerner who has survived at least one brutal Yukon winter. "We've gone through quite a few toes over the years," said Downtown Hotel bar manager Matt van Norstrand. "Some are swallowed, one was chewed up and several were hijacked by military cadets from Ontario."

Luckily, there is no shortage of careless lawnmower operators across North America willing to donate. "We keep an extra one in the freezer," van Norstrand added, "for just such emergencies."
