I love windchimes and have them hanging in my house and garden. My neighbours hung some silver twisted sticks in their garden, so when the wind catches them they twist around and around and look like ripples of water. Beautiful.

I love windchimes too! I have 2 on the front porch, one is a southwestern design, the other brass bells that makes beautiful chimes.

OOOOOOf... We're starting to look like one of those country type craftte shoppes in here!!!
In recent years, the Gnome for me has become associated with travel !!!!! Don't know if any of you saw the French film "Amelie" - where Audrey Tatou (now of Da Vinci code fame) made her debut. To coax her Dad out of his grief, she hijacked his very own garden ornament and somehow arranged for postcards to be sent to her dad showing Mr Gnome against exotic foreign monuments etc... But I;m raving on. In short.. Gnomes will now of course always remind me of our very own beloved Gnomad.
You've got me all ablush, JB... (of course Texas blokes are world famous for knowing how to treat a lady... grin!!!)....
Opus FGei .... Bless you for being pure in heart!!!!!

As fer the oubliette - they used to appear in old gothic romances, the dungeon cell you got dumped in by a hole in its roof, so far beneath the convent or whatever that anyone consigned there got forgotten.. Sadly this was often a nun in the family way. I think an oubliette cropped up in one of the recent Harry Potter movies.
I gottttta get KWAWFEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEe

There's an oubliette in the film "Labyrinth" also. I love that film!
It stars David Bowie and Jennifer Connolly.
Through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered
I have fought my way here to the castle beyond the goblin city
To take back the child that you have stolen
For my will is as strong as yours and my power is as great

Okay, let me get some opinions.
Do you see me more as spreading my wisdom to fertilize young minds? *doing my damnedest to keep a straight face*
Do you see me as an irrigation system, as Bez says?
Or something more fitting my nickname?

Pammie it's a FAB film, and Bowie is sex on legs! Whoooaaarrrrrrrrrr! Drooooooolll!
At the end of the film he says to Jennifer Connolly:
Just fear me, love me, do as I say....
And I will be your slave!
And she turns him down!!!
I'm a puddle of lust on the floor, drooling "YES, Yes, I'm here, I'm yours...pant! pant!"
But she turns him down! Huh! Gal's a fool!
It's a bit of an old film now, but still well worth watching!
