He can come here, say what he wants about whoever he wants, and we should just keep quiet? Let him go where he is actually wanted. Let him go where people will believe him when he says the sky is green and the grass is purple. You want to know what adds fuel to the fire for me? People trying to force us to either like him or let it go. What he posted to BR wouldn't be offensive to newbies but our retaliation would be? There will come a day I am sure, that I for one will be here to say "I told you so", and believe me, I will do it every opportunity I get.:-5

OK. So which part of "not stirring anything up here?" do you have a problem understanding?...

Sorry. I used a UK dictionary, you know. One where all the REAL words are defined. It must really kill the Americans to know that American is not an acknowledged language.

Usenet, sorry.... "spleeing falmes are to be avoided". Anyway, once I wroked

at a place that had a *very* well-spoken receptionist, who would announce

to the whole company over the p.a. system "Calling Mr. Lastname... Calling

Mr. Firstname Lastname, please contact reception, thank you!" when visitors,

etc. came... one day, she received a request to "Please page Mr. Janus - oh,

his first name's Hugh". The results were entirely predictable, and the witch-

hunt prolonged.... the culprits were, however, never apprehended!

Oh Dear Nomad. An american asking what "Up" means. Well lets take this as simply as we can. Up, is the opposite of down. Down is what you get from duck feathers. Feathers are used as a filling in a quilt. a Quilt is used to keep your bed warm. A warm bed is a need for any "red blooded" male. So therefore it seems that your request for information as to the term "up." is to stay in bed. Does that compute?

Hi Rog...No rain yet and none forecast. Luckily I haven't been at work this week, been sorting and packing ready to move sometime in August.

It was nearly 100 degrees in my garden so couldn't enjoy the sunshine.

You still sleeping in the tent ? :D

The forecast for our region is rain and thunder by Saturday. We were supposed to have had it yesterday. More delays.

I put the tent up and the weather turned cold. I took it down last weekend, and the weather turned hot again. Hehe. I shall leave it down now.

I'm not working at the moment either as my contract ended. Waiting for the next one to come along. This weather is too hot for work though.

How is your packing coming along? Do you know when you're going to move yet?

Think I'll be moving sometime in August. I'm looking for a flat to rent, but the ones i've viewed so far are NOT nice.

No rain forecast here for the next 5 days at least. it is baby Lewis's christening on Sunday...something to look forward to. He has 4 teeth now and is getting around by rolling over and over. Hard to believe he is 9 months old now. He will be having a brother or sister next April.

Let me just say this. . . as a 'newbie' I have no idea what you people are talking about. Or whom you are talking about and this place is just too big for me to go surfing around and try to find out. So, I just read and read and try to keep up. But it's confusing.

When I first came there were a couple of people who called each other names but when I read the posts I thought they were just friendly jabs. But as I read, I saw print in bold letters and thought, 'Uh oh, I think they must be angry at each other.' So, I didn't join in cuz I didn't know these people and I didn't know what ticked them off. I still don't. I don't chose sides if I don't know the players. That's the reason football season is so boring to me. :wah: I have to have someone to cheer for! I only have one team I cheer for and one team I want to see them get their butts kicked, everyone else is just a game.

I try not to join in on anything personal and I don't post just to be posting as you can see from my count. I love watching you kid each other and have a good time and in my head this is just one big comedic family and you make me laugh my a** off. You guys are a real hoot! :-4

I hope I never say anything derogatory to any of you and chances are, if I do, it's by someone who misread something I said. It happens.

Soooo, the best thing I can say is, if the person you are talking about is gone, why are you still talking about it? If they were a troll or a flamer and you ran them away, good for you.

Now, get back to making me laugh!! ;)

Funny you should say that, 911, because I have not seen the person we are talking about back, so I wonder if we have "run him off"??? If that's the case, then HORRAY for us!! The Garden will be a much more peaceful, happy place with this particular member gone. For me, anyway!! So yeah, I see no need to discuss this parasite further, and we can resume our fun.

Flats are so expensive. But you do have to get one that suits you. Best of luck with your search, Bez.

4 teeth, eh. Hope it's a bit cooler for you on Sunday. Although, some churches can be cool on the inside even in this weather. But you'll still nedd to come outside if only to get the photos.

Just out of interest, how do you pronounce 'conch' in the USA?

Yup, that's how we pronounce it too. Hmmm. Then perhaps the definition is different. It won't do for these things to be the same thing between our countries.:D

For us, it's a large sea-shell, particularly a spirally one.

:D .

It may interest you to know that if I need to look up a word, I currently give myself a choice of two sources (so restricted because I haven't bothered to do anything about expanding my options yet).

The first option is my old Pocket Oxford Dictionary. I was given this when I first started senior school in 1966. It is very dog-eared, but it still has all its pages (they're in there somewhere).

My second option is www.m-w.com. Merriam Webster is an American company. So, it would appear that I am looking up American translations. So far, I don't think I've had a problem with any differences between American and English definitions.

In my dictionary, spook is defined as ghost. Spooky isn't defined at all.

MW provide the following definition - Main Entry: spooky :popWin('/cgi-bin/audio.pl?spooky01.wav=spooky')">

Pronunciation: 'spü-kE

Function: adjective

Inflected Form(s): spook·i·er; -est

1 : relating to, resembling, or suggesting spooks

2 : NERVOUS, SKITTISH spooky horse>

- spook·i·ly /-k&-lE/ adverb

- spook·i·ness /-kE-n&s/ noun

There ya go. Now I'm sure you all found that to be rivetting stuff this time of the day.

OK, I have an idea. If you could get one of those mesh things that people place in the backs of thier cars..they tie it off at each side of the trunk, to keep bags and groceries from flying all over. Maybe that may serve a purpose.

I'll keep the undignified landings - at least I don't leave external clues :)

Try a VSTOL landing. The coffee table may crash, but you may survive. :wah:

Or failling that, you need a longer landing deck. Get a bigger coffee table...;)
