And we have Poutine. French junk food. The real reason we put up with Quebec's familial hissy fits.:wah:

Diuretic wrote: Vegetarian bacon? Could be on a winner! It's only produced in Ontario I think so that could be why you don't know it (depending on where you live of course). It's cured and then cooked the way you want it. There are a couple of places in St Lawrence Market in TO that sell it on market days, you can get a nice peameal bacon sandwich there.
Well thanks for the info.I live in Nova Scotia. It's only about a three hour flight to TO.I have been there a few times. The next time I am there I will have to look for one, sounds good.

Yes it is.I live in the south western part of NS and the Evangeline leads here. I live in a small fishing village which is Acadian. Not sure if you know that history behind Evangeline & Gabriell. Is a story about two Acadiens in the time of the deportation. Which is when the English were angry with the French that came to Nova Scotia because they would not chose a side to fight on when England and France were at war. They became angry, and came to Nova Scotia and took the Acadiens, brought them to Grand Pre and put them on ships and deporting them throughout the United Sates and Canada. That is why there are Acadiens in places like Louisiana. They split families up, and many people came back, but others never did find each other. The story of Evangeline & Gabrielle, is a fictitious love story duplicated regarding the deportation, to help people imagine what it was like to be torn apart from your loved ones. The Evangeline trail is in memory of the fictitious character, that has become very real to many people. You can even go to Grand-pre, their is a monument in their memory and so forth, as well as other information regarding the deportation. There is a lot more info on it, but it would take me for ever. here is a Link to grand pre http://www.valleyweb.com/acadians/index.html
