I came across a site that lists tons of competitions and they try to screen out the scams. It got lost when my hard drive melted last week but I'll try to find it again.

As long as you don't send them money there's no harm in trying.

A competition for all the US poets

Pinky, anything asked over $5 per poem entry is not legit. Most contests ask for nothing or only a $1 per poem-that is considered very legit. If they ask for any big bucks, say no. Or-you are published in a volume, but must purchase it.

They do that here with the phoney Who Who's books too. The legit one doesn't cost a thing.
