A comfortor IS the actual bed cover, nice and thickly padded. I never actually knew what a Duvet was (sheltered life I guess).

duvet is like a giant pillow case to go over the comforter...you can take it off and wash it, where of course nobody would never wash the actual down comforter. my duvet was very expensive to go over a huge king comforter, all white lace. but it has held up quite well. it's very pretty.

Duvet is what you put the comforter in - like a pillow case - change decor.. I've made several. There nice to have to change out.
I saw the coupon for this weekends ad - coupon is green and over the 20% in bold black letters " 20% off one item" interesting - it wasn't there before..

I cannot believe how much comforters and duvets are starting to cost. would you pay six hundred dollars for either one? it blows my mind.

i paid $600. for my down comforter 20 years ago....and it's still saving me heating bills.

For a down comforter i can see paying that much, but not for a regular ole comforter. ...........i am showing my age. next i will think i can buy a drink for thirty five cents like my grandmother...........:wah:

you're kidding!! ??? feathers everywhere! ...actually if mine got wet it would weigh about 3000 pounds and take a month to dry!

I wash mine too and pop it in the dryer...........

Well I wouldn't do it on a regular basis but I have washed down jackets,
etc., and I've never had a problem.
You can put tennis balls in the dryer with them, fluffs them up!
