It's a rewrite of Richard Addinsell's Warsaw Concerto.

Oh, a lovely piece. Yes, Piano Concerto #2 is my favorite. I listen to it often but it has been quite awhile since I have played it, it has nine whole step reaches and is hard to play if not in practice. Oh do listen to it Dr. G and tell me what you think of it!

Yes, she said the same thing, its really hard on the fingers and thumbs, but not being a pianist I am spared such things. I will certainly listen to it, I just have to find it somewhere as I have not got any rachmaninoff, which is typcial as I have got just about everything bloody else.

Spot, whats this you say about the Warsaw concerto, is this true or are you being mischevious again, doesn't sound like the timeframes match.

Oh, you know that is my favorite piece. That one I still play alot.

I am definetly going to get my hands on this piece, I probably have heard it before, but you know how it is with classical, unless you study the repertoire in depth its easy to get confused about specific pieces sometimes, though I am getting much better nowadays in recognizing what things are. My own loves are Chopin of course and Bach, actually I heard Babi Yar over the Christmas during the proms on TV, it was pretty amazing, Stostakovich was an amazing composer.

Galbers - I can't wait. Have wandered round Galway and the Ring of Kerry before. Wonderful country. My first Irish teacher was Cultural Attache at the Irish Embassy here and came from Donegal. So I started off with a Donegal accent. Beautiful, but with a slightly hard edge. Thanks for all the tips. You've got me salivating. McGillicudy's Reeks I remember, sort of vaguely in the Ring. The walk I'm hoping to go on is a fairly easy one .. Tralee, Camp, Annascaul, Dingle, Slea Head, Dunquin, Ballyferriter. I just take a daypack and IrishTourism transport my bag between b&bs, farms, pubs etc.

One of the West of England schools orchestras was performing his Chamber Symphony in the Victoria Rooms three years ago and the place was packed solid. I think they'd toured as an orchestra in Poland the previous year and some of the players had spent a free day getting to Auschwitz, which might be why they had it on the program, but my memory's not perfect as far as that goes. It was a great performance of a powerful work though, goodness only knows how the conductor got them playing that well.

Glad you liked em, I go there at least once a year to clear the old head. The west of ireland is a very beautiful place alright. We are a lucky people. Here are some more.













That last one is a lovely place for a dip in the sea, as long as you dont mind driving over a mountain to get to it, the seals play on the rocks sometimes, its fun.

Yes, but I warn you pinks, the winters are hard on the atlantic coast, you wouldn't want to go too near the cliffs in winter, you'd be blown all the way to New England. But I am glad you are enjoying it, and I hope you get to see it for yourself. :-6

Oh a lot of the west is like that, conemarra is pretty spectacular as well, and so is west Kerry/Cork as I'm sure Jenny will confirm, I have never been to Donegal, but its pretty similar. Achill is my own favourite though, its just a lovely place to be.
