Hi Laura, tell your Dad that I got to this thread too late, and I wish him well also!
Glad to hear that he's doing okay...and sounds normal, wanting grapes peeled and a bell...make sure you have the bendy straws for all of his drinks and a warm compress for his head for thinking too much if he needs it!! :-6
Take Care,
Wendy

Give him a pain pill and a hot toddy. He will even eat his bananas unpeeled then.

The outer bandage comes off on Monday, and the two inner bandages come off a week later when the stitches are removed.

I reckon my right knee will be sore for quite a while. It's much more uncomfortable today which is a little annoying as they were supposed to do the left knee  ..........I jest of course
I was going to have a humourectomy, but exploratory surgery found no evidence of one

I haven't slept well lately, so I'm hoping that while it's all going on I will at least be getting a decent bit of shut-eye. I can't drive for 2 weeks but the real downside is that I have to have 17 days off work just putting my feet up. It's going to be a hideous ordeal I know.
Poor thing. I only wish I needed surgery ! Time off...painkillers... *sigh*
Id be freaking out too. I took a nasty fall a few yrs ago and gashed my leg pretty good but I wouldnt let them put stitches in.

Actually, they told me I needed 3 weeks off which would be 24 days off inc yesterday. I can go back earlier if I get my Doc to sign me off otherwise I'm not insured apparently. I'll probably be under pressure to return to work and who knows, I might be a little stir-crazy by then. Strange thing is, I've found sitting around with my feet up has been tiring

When I'm here on my own when Laura's back at scool, I'll probably be bored. Got a few books in though

Apparently I have on occasion slippined into Irish when I am drunk and annoyed, but I think I have to be pretty drunk.

Well at exactly this time last week I was in the operating theatre. Here's an update. My knee is still uncomfortable but I have exercises to do which although appearing easy have been an effort. I can now bend my knee to about 60° before encountering discomfort. I think there may be an infection in the stitches on the inside of my knee as last night in bed, I couldn't allow the weight of the knee to bear on the stitches where previously there was no problem. The stitches on the outside of my knee are ok. I've been told I feel tired and sometimes drowsy due to the general anaesthetic which can stay in the system for a couple of weeks. Personally, I put it down to boredom. I've been on here, watched some telly and read one book so far. Highlight of the day was going outside to bring my bin in and show a roofer the damage to my roof from yesterdays winds. I need a lie down after all the excitement of that and a PM off Cher

If you've got an infection you will get it checked out won't you. (that's not a question - that's an order!!!)
I got an infection in the wound after I had surgery and a few antibiotics soon sorted it out.
