It's important, imo, for women to realise that these models have teams of people who's job it is to make them look good and, even then, only one photo per contact sheet survives.
Ok, we get the point, you know alot about photography, thats not the point of my post- the point of my post was to show the drastic difference between make up and no make up- duh:-5

Silly question, all men know you do it to hide the cracks and wrinkles.

I like to wear make up because it makes me feel more cheerful a bit of mascara and some lip gloss and I feel much happier and prettier . :-6

I have a sister in law that believes in wearing "heavy" make-up. I was very nervous about my blind date back in Nov., so I called her over to make up my face all pretty...I have pics of it...I just want to say that I'm thankful that he's still dating me....and he's confessed that he likes the "originial layer" better than all the make-up...but of course I'm beautiful both ways!!:-4

Putting on a little make-up is fun and gives you some amount of control over your appearance.

Lighting is the key and good positioning of the camera. On photoshoots, at least five different people go through over twenty pages of contact sheets with a loop putting their mark next to the few that pass inspection.

I wear very little. My greatest fear was ever to paint a face that someone would be shocked to see without the paint. Other reasons are... Im not the
glamour girl type. I spend a lot of time getting messy. Painting, Landscaping, etc...... I agree with the girls though. Men do look at made up women.

I, also, think it is important to feel good about yourself be it with or without makeup. I do go out sometimes without makeup but that is usually short errands.
I don't wear foundation. For some reason I look plastic in foundation. I use powder like most women use foundation. I accent my eyes cuz, let's be honest, that's about as good as it gets, folks.
I work with a woman who is eight months younger than I am but she got her mothers genes, unfortunately. She is very wrinkled and she must go through a bottle of foundation a week along with a can of hairspray. She still uses lip liner, the kind that is the opposite color of the lipstick (that is soooo last year). But she uses the liner on the outer sides of her lips. So, if she is coming at you from a distance all you see is this really huge mouth! And she reapplies it all day long. She thinks men find it sexy while she puts it on. And some do. . . . . I don't get it.
And she had the gall to tell me that I shouldn't use black eyeliner even though I have black hair. It's not like I have this huge thick liner on my eyes, it's just a thin line, just enough to highlight my lashes. Although recently, I have switched to a form of plum which still looks dark. I decided I liked it better when I had to use it in an emergency one time.
Oh, sorry, I can blabber on sometimes. . . . .

Hi Novelty, I like to wear make up if I am going out as I feel that I look more dressed up that way. I do often go out without make up, but quite frequently I have people asking me if I am okay, as i'm so pale!
I feel that with make up I can enchance features and hide other imperfections, I myself feel that I look a lot bettter with make up on.
The only time it's been caked on me is when I was younger and I need some photo shots, I came away from one session and it took a whole pack of cotton wool and a botte of cleanser to get it all off. :-5

I do not use makeup that much. Once in awhile, maybe once a year. Alot of people when I put makeup on, ask me if I am okay. They tell me I do not need to use it.

I hardly ever wear make up, and then when I do it's a very light foundation and a neutral pallatte. All I wear on a daily basis is moisturizer and chap stick.

what is the most important item in a women's makeup bag?
if you only could take one item with you what would it be??
(it is possible for these two questions to have different answers)
My most important thing is my mosturiser, it would be the same answer for the second question but if I had to pick something else it would be my eyelash curlers, as I have long but straight eyelashes.
The reason I wear blush is to give me a little colour, as I am very pale and have freckles.

whats going on in here then? I would have thought this question was self evident, like why do men get jobs and fight each other? To get women of course, just the other way round, is it wrong to think that?

SuzyB;574678 wrote: What do you mean women fight first then get a job?

Well I dunno, all this new fangled women having jobs and having their own lives thing, that kinda throws my shaky premise out of the water, and maybe the only response left to men is to put on make up, and become objects of sexual desire to the women who can become the breadwinners and so forth. It is interesting, do men fight first and then get jobs?
Well, the whole thing is a fight you see. Up to the point at which you get married; copulate; and have sprogs, you are in fact a very intense genetic, social, and sexual competition with all of your peers (in your case all those other sexually active females) to get a viable, long term mate, and have as many healthy offspring as possible and ensure they become adults who will also copulate and produce more people, which is the biological purpose of your life (whatever your own personal purpose, which is not always the same of course).
Hence the make up, fighting, dancing, deodorant, property market stuff, angst, poetry, drag races, make overs, wine bars, restaurants, clothes, fancy gardens and interiors, fashion, one-upmanship, keeping up appearances; all that sort of crazy stuff that we do all the time. Its all quite necessary because without that motivation we would probably do very little when we are young than just flap about a lot (which we do anyway), most of our motives when we are young revolve around finding a suitable mate, then when we are older we establish ourselves in society through success, and then as we grow older we try to conserve whatever we have managed to achieve in life. Then we die, after that, who knows.

RedGlitter pretty much said everything that I would. :-3
It's like lingerie in a way. It makes you feel attractive. Well..more attractive.
I agree I don't like the extreme version when people smother themselves with layers and layers of makeup caked on so hard it would stay on their face during a hurricane. More natural looking makeup that brings out your own beauty, without compromising your canvas..

Have you ever forgotten that you have make up on .
Some times I will go a few days without make up to let my skin breath and I have a habit of rubbing my eyes and face , so when I do put make up on I will totally forget I have it on and end up rubbing mascara all over my face hehe not a good look I tell you .

With the pain I suffer in my neck, shoulder and back, it shows on my face at times.
Makeup helps hide that fact, and plus, it enhances what I have to begin with. I use crushed mineral cosmetics, and LOVE the finished result. I avoid blue eyeshadow normally, as a liner, it's fine on occasion. With my brown hair and eyes, browns and khaki greens look great on me!
A lot of women go by what they see in movies, tv and photos. You have to wear slightly more makeup in those cases, to avoid being washed out in the bright lights. I used to apply my makeup in direct sunlight, to get the most natural look. Maybe I'll start doing that again. (Julia Roberts has her makeup applied while reclining, as she says it goes on more relaxed.)
I do know a woman who truly cakes on the cosmetics. I just want to sit her down, scrub her face, and teach her how to enhance, not change her looks.

I don't wear a lot but wouldn't leave the house without a bit of powder and mascara on. Some people don't need it, others that don't wear it really could do with some.

I do agree there are some women who could use a touch of color, or evening out of skin tone.
