Male circumcision for cleanliness is a crock. If that's the case, then female circumcision would be appropriate as well and we should all shave our heads of hair as well as pubic hair.Good body hygiene is a very individual thing.

I agree Lon. When my 3 sons were born I argued to not have them circumcised. My wife argued for. She won. (imagine that). I think for some it is more of an aesthetic decision than a hygienic one. Doesn't make it right but it is another reason I suppose.

No further than some of the idiotic, obscene and objectionable posts of the past that were not censored or deleted. We can show breasts, genitalia, etc. but not a medical pic of an anus. Interesting!!

i know two guys who have had it done. One in his early fifties and one in his late. something to do with skin tightening or something - they said. Is it possible that while skin is falling off us everywhere else at this age it's trying to revert to original condition in that area?:-2
Anyhoot, they both commented they they wished they'd had it done as babies as they has a hard time dealing with the sensitivity at this point.
Personally I would think they'd just view it as a new toy.

I'm a bit confused, are you all saying that when your baby boy was born the doctor asks if you'd like this procedure done?
I thought it was only done as a religious thing, cant remember any of my friends saying the doctor offered to hack a bit off their baby.

I have daughters Pam but i don't think this is common in Scotland as i've never heard any of my friends with sons comment on it, i shall have to ask them now.
At what point does the doctor ask this question, at diagnosis of pregnancy, at your scan, at babies birth?
I would have thought it would have to be at the request of the parents and you'd need a damned good reason why you want it done.

The doctor asks after the first day and yes I've agreed twice...& why not...it's my decision...both my boys survived and are fine:wah:

It is somethin I feel should be a choice for adults and not foisted upon innocent children. There may be medical reasons but cleanliness is certainly not a valid reason.
What is abominable is the Talmud style of circumcision
Many American male babies are circumcised by medical procedure shortly after birth. However, Orthodox Judaism prescribes circumcision as a religious ritual, to be performed according to strict Talmudic laws. According to those laws, the man who circumcises the infant, the mohel, must suck the infant's bleeding penis with his mouth.
This is not a practice contained to the third world.
It has been performed in the US in recent years and I'm not even sure if the practice is still allowed or has been outlawed altogether. We can only hope
